I’m starting a DIY website now I need articles for the site, so I’m having them done for me and he needs KWs for the article and I’m not sure what I’m looking for when giving him KWs for the article ... the reference site I have is https://www.thespruce.com/bedroom-remodel-ideas-4171245 but that’s it

So you want to create a website in the DIY niche and have no idea what keyword to provide the content writer.
First, your writer might need a main keyword to be able to identify the article's subject.
If your want to create a similar article with the one you provided, perhaps you could give him the following keywords:
- bedroom remodel ideas
- bedroom unique lighting
- bedroom design ideas

Before going for keyword research, you need to analyze more on your competitors search engine presence. You can analyze the competitors through semrush, ahref similar to that tools.
So that you can come to conclude for keywords you need to target on your website.
Then find the search volume on google keyword planner.

My suggestion is SemRush and Kwfinder, both had free checks daily. Check on both so you will get some ideas.
There are several services in the Marketplace, @Holzr is one that springs to mind who can save you a lot of time, effort and heartache.

There are many free keyword research tools available. Try kwfinder, semrush, google trends.. they come with free trials. You could also use paid versions for better research.
