Ok I have a general question that will not affect your plan, what genre of Music is it? Rap, Punk Rock, Pop, Trance, Techno? as every music genre is different both in competition, and size of the market. I am interested btw,

Please PM me with more info about the artists, you, and your website

Right now we're rap, pop, rnb. Branch out into others soon too.

We're gonna bite the bullet and take the risk for anyone that wants to hear our music please go to http://www.prettyboybeats.com there are 99 songs and beats uploaded for your listening

A mod said all i have to do is post it and if people like it they will reply. Thats it. Theres a lot of competition for investors right now with other investors, but we could use more than one so dont worry you might get picked!

Which mod told you that?

This is such bull. This small amount of money, is the OP saying he doesn't even have one friend with a credit card?

Come on dude, pull the other one.

Its back up. Sorry for the inconvenience. Dont believe it if you dont want to. $5000 is not a small amount of money. Thats 10 months of rent on a studio apartment down here.

I'm gonna keep it 100% real I love guys who get into music but from a independent stand point i noticed you said your a few stacks away from what u needed, but unless u have $75,000 = $100,000 to promote 1 artist I don't see how this is gonna work. The problem is not creating music, or studio time...it's marketing that gonna eat up 85% of the budget you should break down exactly what u plan to do with the money stage for stage and the projection.

Funny you lay it all out like that GreenGoblin, you are 100% on the money. There is a guy out there right now on kickstarter that is raising money to give seminars on exactly what you stated:

Im gonna keep this 100% real, you dont see how this is gonna work because you have no idea what we're doing. The only problem we've had is the amount. Most people that have contacted me dont have the money we need. I wouldnt be surprised if you knew the marketers, they are on this forum. Unfortunately most info on this project is confidential and only potential investors who contact me on skype will have any idea whats going on. Our manager is the head A&R at Def Jam and is also the angel investor. We're in a good position for what we're about to do. Going to exploit them.

you do know Def Jam is 80 million in debt right? but that besides the point that's another story I'm not gonna trash your thread im just going to give u hardcore facts. A&R's only means u have contacts to walk in the door 90% of A&R's can't pull the trigger and get u a deal even if u do get a deal that doesn't mean u will get a distribution, so throwing DEFJAM out there like it means something it doesn't just means u know know someone at defjam i do music as well my retaining law firm is GreenBerg Traurig so when u throw out names throw out names like that people who can move walls not A&R's anyway regarding the budget here's what u looking at this is just advertising 1 single the average artist does 3 singles so come up with a budget based on those numbers and x it by 3.

We also have an interconnect which covers all 3 zones on one contract:

MTV $28 $46 $14 $88

Now add this up for 30 days a month and how many x u want your commercial to run on TV to advertise the artist for the album release date.

I mean if your using itunes as a source to get numbers up for a distribution to say hey we will distribute this aritst that can work however u need something out of this world to make it go viral, and u need a massive network and i mean massive something like developing 30 iphone apps games, etc giving them away for free and using those as a avenue of promoting a artist if u can get 5-10 million people using the games or apps if not then you will be forced to use radio as a avenue for marketing and advertising and its not cheap look at the numbers...it's not easy my dude, im currently in the same position but building a network and knowing exactly what your doing is the first start. If you don't have a network online where u can reach consumers u will fail simple as that.

If you want me to sit down and really show u how to market a artist, I will but more then likely u already think you know it all but here's the info free.

DOnt get me wrong we've been in this industry for over a decade. I know what you're saying but you have no idea what we're doing and you're just assuming. I appreciate the help, i really do. But like i said a lot of info is confidential and only for people who actually want to invest in the next big thing. We have the offline market down and have been doing it for the past decade. Its just recently we saw how important the internet really was and now here we are. We were contacted by teddy riley to hang tight when he gets back from paris he wants to cut us a deal. If we have 100k+ fans from this campaign hes going to give us a bigger cut right? Fuck it if they're in debt, they're still handing out signing bonus's like no tomorrow if you have 100K+ fans. hoping to find the next lady gaga or michael jackson. It really kills me that i cant tell you who the marketer is, he is on here and wishes to be kept a secret from non investors. We personally dont want everyone here blowing him up asking for his work for their own personal use. If you can understand where im coming from. If you saw our plan youd see we're focusing on "untraditional" things we didnt focus on before. This is an expansion of the company to focus mainly on the internet. We sold 5000 copies of a cd purely through word of mouth on the streets of miami during summer. Our profit was less that $2000 because of supply cost and time spent in the studio. But because of that we were featured on the radio with that artist. If you saw our plan, already knew what we're doing and what we have already done you would understand more. I dont want to brag but ive been in sessions with ne-yo, wiz khalifa and katy perry. Katy perry gave me the idea to become an internet sensation first. Look at her Album list, the first one did poorly. And then she became an internet sensation with one song. Now she's Katy Fucking Perry and Dr.LUke(the producer) has really done an amazing job. I would like to do this campaign before the bigger labels final come to a solution with the new internet model for the industry. They're also in debt because they give in to greedy artists. You dont need $2m to record an album. Ive seen what they do with half of it and ill tell you its not anything that is benefitting the album. Managers are doing a poor job of artist development and letting them be arrogant kings that just spend money on the most expensive shit with the least quality. Good quality is what we're achieving and its a shame to see all of this great talent go to waste over greed.

One example we're going by is Kreayshawn. She got 11m views before she finally signed a contract with Columbia. $3m contract for one album. She wasnt approached by columbia first, they just offered her the most.
