Need information on a recently acquired PR9 domain

Frightening. I'm shocked anyone on here would believe they could get a pr9 for $1100, add a couple of noughts on the end maybe. On DP maybe, but on here.....

Nah, this must be a wind up. Has April Fools day come early?

This isn't taking a calculated risk, it's just being careless and lazy with due diligence.

You should have looked at the backlink profile and known right away it was fake. Why would you trust automated tools over what you can see with your own eyes (the backlink profile)? And that was 20% of your yearly savings? Damn, dude, that's a large percentage of your cash to bet on something like that.

Good deal i'll tell you, but come to think of it, how did this site attend the pr 9? Any proof?

Well, hopefully this $1,100 that you lost will teach multiple people something.

I know I've learned from this thread (so thank you).

For those who are more knowledgeable, how are people able to provide a PR 9 link to PR checker? I just checked www.prchecker.info and I saw that it was actually considered a 9 so even the PR checker site has been duped.

Just so we can learn a bit from his expensive mistake. :o

I just checked this domain again, and i'm thinkin.
This pagerank 9 domain is a Redirect from a Blogger blog.

As wargasm already said on this thread, it 's the 301 redirection trick. Old as the mountains. :)

PrChecker.info is actually a valid PR 9. Wanna know the reason? More than 165 million backlinks (yeah millions) from which 210k are .edu's and 60k are .gov's :)

He means he checked the OP's site using PrChecker.info :p

Yep, that is what I meant. Thanks for that info.

That is quite a nasty trick. My biggest IM mistake has cost me $25 or so :)

...my biggest life mistake has cost me (my parents) about $50-100,000 and counting. :o

Many of us didn't have to look further than his statement that it had few inks.

If you can even count all the links, it is not PR9.

Yes, since 2009. There is no end to learning. I have always taken risk all my life sometimes very foolish to the extent of having nothing in my bank balance so this is nothing new to me.

By the way, that 1k was 20% of my yearly savings after meeting all the expenses.

I believe that if you don't take risks you don't grow. Thats the way I am :)

There is a difference between taking risks and being lazy and careless. Had you come across a PR 6 domain name, checked the pr thoroughly and bought it at 1000 dollars without having a solid business plan, then that is taking a risk.

What you have done is definitely not a calculated risk. No sane person in the world would sell a pr 9 site and that too through godaddy.

Had you spent 47 dollars on scrapebox (i got it at 47, don't know the cost now), you could have checked 100,000 domain names for real pr and selected on the best one that you could afford. No matter in what profession you are, you need to have the right tools and information.

No, no, you got that wrong. You grow but taking educated actions and accepting the risks involved. You missed the first part, as you obviously know nothing about domain valuation. So, that 's not taking risk, it 's trowing money away for no possible gain.

I agree with you for the most part BUT Not all risks are calculated.

It should be noted there are less than 200 PR9 websites in the world (most researchers say 148 so I gave it the benefit of a doubt they missed some). To think one of them is being sold on GoDaddy is crazy. I think people don't realize the rarity of a PR9 or they'd never fall for such a gimmick. Blogger is a PR9 and most likely where the domain got the fake PR from.

Whenever I see someone selling a PR7 or higher I just laugh because I know the rarity of such domains and if someone is truly selling them (especially a PR9) it would probably be listed on a World News report. Even a PR8 would draw great attention.

Well...actually, 20% of my life's earning because I have never been able to save any money before in my life.

The domain was auctioned at godaddy. A good domain doesnt stay for more than few minutes. There are hundreds of vultures out there :) I only had few minutes to snatch that domain. I did use more than a few tools to check the pagerank in the few minutes I had, and they all showed valid pagerank. I typed in info" and then the domain to see if there was any redirect but there was not. That made me feel more confident because I had detected few fake pr like this in the past. I wasnt aware of the 301 redirection trick that enabled the PR to stay even when they are no longer redirected.

I saw that Backlink didn't exist which means a drop in the next PR upate. It could be pr8 or pr7 or little lower. Still worth $1100 but if I keep the content alive and update add more back-links, the PR would stay. Who knows...That's part of the RISK...I was willing to bear..

I believe that, When you are a goal driven person, you live every moment with the anticipation that any time life would change for the better. There will be some breakthough that will turn that impossible into possible and make things work for you. From the thread, it obvious that I am not a regular domainer. I have never bought anything from godaddy auction before. I accidently landed on this domain auction out of nowhere. Sometimes, your optimism for betterment pushes you and makes you believe that its possible. I am no nuts. I know PR9 domains are a rare find, next to impossible. But, I don't mind pushing my luck and beliving the impossible, despite the risk of losing my hard earning. As I said, some risks are non calculated. No offense to anyone, but Had the PR been real, the comments from most people would have been drastically different. "Risk pays off" etc etc. MAking me feel a better man :) But, nevertheless, I took the risk and lost in this occcasion but I am ok with it. Actually. I wouldn't shy away from taking similar risk in the future :)

Also, It has nothing to do with laziness. I work for more than 20 hours a day 7 days a week.

I feel sorry for you, but you have to check before you buy expensive things like that...

ahh.. i wouldn't worry about. 1k sucks! hope you can get it back.

Anyhow.. it's a lesson learned. Hard to put a price on education.

I sure got some good tips from this post. So thanks!

Aww.. thats shitty dude...

A tip before purchasing your next PR 9 domain, use seomoz's toolbar..they update their PR tool bars more frequently..
