need info on basic ebay usage: Shipping items out

okay so I've just begun my ebay run, and ive sold my first items, but i ran into an issue that im not sure how to take care of:

I originally thought that the way it works is i list an items on ebay with a shipping ETA, item sells, i ship via however and message the guy the tracking label. turns out I was wrong

When i listed the item, i used "U.S. Postal Service"

now it wants me to print a shipping label, so appearently i have to do this through ebay...how does this work?

so heres my question, is this how it works?:

1. print shipping label
2. package item, put shipping label on package
3. transaction is handled through ebay, ie i pay through them and they setup the pickup and delivery, so I can just expect a truck to come by to pickup my item?

I'm not sure if thats it, or if I have to go down and drop it off, or call a number to verify pickup or something, let me know please, i need to get this item out by tomorrow and I dont wanna screw anything up

Depending on the shipper, you can either have the item picked up or drop it off a the store yourself. Your best bet is to personally drop off the item at the store.

not 100% on the US version but in the Uk you can opt not to use the postage label and just take the package to the post office yourself. If the US Post Office collect then that seems the best option

I use ebay/paypal to make my shipping labels because the tracking is cheaper than if you went to the post office and got a tracking number.
But, if you don't feel comfortable using paypal to print a shipping label, just bring your boxed item to the post office and they will tell you the different options in which to ship your item.

What about if you're using a stealth ebay account and steath paypal account? When you go to print out your shipping labels through paypal on the "from" part of the label it will have your stealth info which can be a location from a different state.. for example will the post office still take my package if they see a "from" label that has a New York address and me being in Texas?

USPS and UPS supposedly come by and pick up the package, but they never do for me unless I call them and request pick ups on specific dates.

Any time you call UPS to come pick something up they will charge you.
