I've been using Servinio for a few sites and I received an email today saying that EdgeServ has bought them out.

Does anyone know anything about EdgeServ?

After some searching online, they've apparently bought a few webhosts. When trying to view their site, though, I kept getting
"This Connection is Untrusted
... blah blah blah...

uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates.
An additional root certificate may need to be imported.

(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)"

Which concerns me that a webhost wouldn't have that set up correctly.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

I guess we shall see.

I've been with Servinio for almost three years now and I never had any problem with them. Hope EdgeServ will keep it that way.

I'm hopeful, too. Their prices are higher for the same stuff, but the email said that the old prices should be locked in.

I've just never heard of them. :p

I suppose their ssl certificate have been expired and shall renew it...

I used them some weeks ago . Their hosting is fast in this price . so we'll pay 5.28$/m for Edgeserv .
Can you suggest me some hosting same servinio

I've been with servinio for two years, I'm looking forward to seeing what this new hosting has to offer.

I have no problem visiting their website though, it is working just fine.

Thanks all for the responses.

Hopefully they fixed it.

Just checked: nope, not completely. Some of the site is loading fine. If you go to account -> register, it's still funky. Or to "Network status". OK, after poking around, anything requiring the https is throwing the error. Or is it doing that for just me?

A webhosting service that can't even get their own certificates in order I find a bit concerning. In the same way that you don't go to a mechanic that can't keep his own car running.

Servinio's been great -- good service, great price. EdgeServ's supposed to keep the same pricing (I really hope they do). Does anyone know about the reliability?

Addendum: Interesting finding: the url from the email is: edgeservbut the exact same website is: biggergreenerhosting and it works fine. They have the same IP in Georgia, USA. Anyone have suggestions about why they're doing that?

Bumping this to see if anyone else has info about EdgeServ?

Same here, I've lost a lot of business these past 24 hours because of it.

Since I use cloudfare I changed the IP back since the files are still hosted at servinio, and now my site is working, freaking lost so much with this stupid migration and they haven't replied to my tickets since yesterday either.. but w/e, I have no complaints besides what has happened the last 24 hours.

Well that's not good news. I suppose I can understand a mess during migration -- for a very short time. But not responding to tickets is not good. I may be looking for a new host then. :(

Thank you both for your information.

Wow, interesting update. I just received an email saying that due to the migration issues, they're giving everyone 3 months free hosting after the migration is done. That's cool. So I'm staying put for the next 3 months, anyway.

I'm also facing issues with SSL. Also RemoteSQL doesn't work anymore.
I might have to change host now.

I have been using servinio for just a few months... not too many problems... not the fastest host but its so cheap... ever since the change... my 2 sites have slowed to a pathetic crawl during any type of busy time. I will be moving on as soon as i find the time.

I highly recommend hostwinds. They are the best shared hosting company i have dealt with in over 8 years. Fast and just about as cheap.

Do they allow porn like servinio on shared hosting?

I was using shared hosting with servinio and they work fine and support was good
But yesterday I don't know why my shared hosting is terminated and no support answer so far

Will move my site to others

And can somebody answer this question
If my site down and lose ranking but up again will it regain it's rank?

Unbelievable, my sites on servinio is down for two days. f*** edgeserv

Same here. Sites down for 2 days and counting. cPanel not working, no response to the tickets.

Seems like high time to start looking for new host
