As said above, this community is based on sharing information. When you post something, we can come by at our leisure and help you out. This saves us from being tied to a conversation with someone online that we cannot help.
In addition to that, other people who are having the same problem can see your solution, and it helps more than on person in the community.
And lastly, it allows us to help people we can actually help. I get Skype request all the time bout you tube, and social media, and I know squat about it. On Skype this always takes time out of my day to be polite and explain that I cannot help.
It only takes 5 minutes or so to get the introductions out of the way, listen to the issue someone need help with, and politely explain that we cannot help, but after 10 of these in one day we have lost an hour of production being polite to people. Some people start right out explaining what they need help with without even asking if we are busy.
On this forum, I can see at a glance that I cannot contribute, so I avoid that thread and move to the ones I can contribute to.
What makes this community so special is that here we really help each other out, and nothing helps more than information shared in real time by people doing it.
