Need Help With WordPress

So, i just had a fresh install a few days ago, but the install came with a pre installed theme, i than installed 2-3 more themes to play around with, and since i noticed the site got messy, i downloaded the "import demo content" thinking it will sort this out, but for some reason, it still look buggy in some areas.

My question is, should i just go for a fresh install? and if so, what is the best way to do so? (like delete from FTP or host panel? and maybe reinstall from FTP so the host pre installed theme wont come?)

did you use a dummy content plugin? If so just hit remove dummy content option, then find a theme you want. You don't need to reinstall to change the theme. Once you finally settle on a theme you want, you can delete the others that are installed.

I did delete the other that were installed.

I haven't used a dummy content plugin, "download demo content" is a feature in most themes, to let you do just that "start from scratch" in a way.

I thought its supposed to make sure the website doesn't break that's why it populates it with the demo content, and then you edit away.

But it seems like importing the demo content make the site broken, for example, i have a double main menu, double footer and double search bar on top, clearly something is broken as of now.

I just had the same problem at the start of the week with a theme. I just went to my cpanel, and deleted the site from there, and then installed again.

Hey. Just need to reinstall. Create a new database and reinstall WordPress

Thread moved.

I’d do a reinstall, then upload the theme via ftp, then set as active and delete the other themes via Wordpress dashboard.

also hopefully you have cPanel and one click wp installs?

Further more, get into the habit of downloading backups before and after making big changes to your site - then you’ve always got an easy way of rolling back.
