hello,

I have a business site that is not a wordpress blog. To make it kind of non "static" i added a blog to the website. I am displaying the blogs RSS feed on the homepage so google can keep crawling it.

But i have no idea how to rank a site like this. Its a business site so I didnt target any specific long tail keyword into the URL so it seems harder now.

How can i get ranked? i mean i know the usual stuff, get backlinks, bookmarking, forums, etc. But I am not seeing a point to this if i cannot keep my site updated.

anyone?

thanks

add in some rss feeds that pull in related news.. i have some sites like that i do that on. for example, if it is a forex site, have some rss feeds that pull in the latest forex news stories

Sorry dont want to disclose my site to anyone. I cant put in competitor information, im selling a product service so it just wont be the best bet for me.

Steps to get quick Organic Traffic to your website

i) Put the best related keywords in the title and description of your home page. On page optimisation of your home page will be the key role to achieve good SERPs. Use those keywords in H1, H2 and repeatedly through out the content. Make them twice or thrice if possible.

ii) Then for blog do keyword Research and Pick those keywords related to your website that have less than 50000 competition. (Use Market Samurai for that purpose)

ii) Use those list of keywords each in a separate blog post. Make your blog post keyword rich and particularly the title of your blog post. Put link of your home page with "Keyword Anchored" with your blog post. Bookmark each post with the help of Onlywire.com for firefox tool.

iii) Don't create backlinks to your domain but rather to your blog posts.

iv) For each blog post write Press Release and submit them to those PR sites that allow syndication and anchor links for FREE.

3 Months of consistent work on your website will surely boom your business you have imagined off! ...

THANK YOU for the wonderful info.

I have another question. ive found about 5 keywords that have good EXACT number of searches and the competition is under 40,000. There are more but i narrowed it down to 5 that fit my site. i have not looked at the actual sites on google for these keywords, because it should not matter right?

because those sites are not optimizing for my chosen keywords, they are authority thats why they are up there? SO if i stick at it I can dominate the sites with less thatn 40K SEOC according to Market Samurai.

Also do you think its better to target more than 5 keywords? I use scrapebox so 1 campaign i can put in as many keywords as i really would like.

any ideas?

Also why not get links to my actual business domain? so i can minimize getting sandboxed? Because i want my MAIN domain to be ranked high, not my blog thats why im asking.

I would yes. And, yes its better to target as many keywords as possible separately.

Once your deep links get SERPs in Google. It will automatically boost the ranking of your home page. You can promote the home page but don't put much promoting it aggressively. Use that time in making new blog posts and their promotion. Regards.
