Need help with SEO question

I know Content/Internal linking and Back Links are probably the main things to rank...


BUT.. I cannot figure out why there are some competitors in my service niche that are ranking number 2-3 on Google with hardly any back links. No linking structure and almost no content or no more content than mine. WTF..


That is why I always wonder about back links and if they work for everybody.

These guys have been there for over a year now. Some new site coming in and they rank pretty good. Some have pretty good SEO but no more than me. Some of the quality of back links seem to not be great either.

I don't really want to post my competitors here as they may be watching. If someone could really tell me why I would love to know.

I am building a PBN from a member here and hopefully that will help me out some.

Any other suggestions?

Could be a number of reasons.
My favorites are page load speed and domain age.
Not only should your domain be aged but also register it for 10 years so google sees that it will stick around.

Also, they might have blocked crawlers from seeing their PBN links, so to you it looks like they hardly have any links but in reality they just know what they are doing.

Their page speed is slower. Also domains are newer. In fact like brand new on a few.

That could be a possibility. But on one in particular I know the guy and he had paid $150 to do the site about 2 years ago and never touched it since.

Sometime its impossible to say why others rank even though they are no way close to you in quality as SEO is not exact science, however i think if you keep working on quality links you will eventually get him sooner or later.
