Need help with SEO Audit

Is there anyone out there that can lend a hand and help me analyze the problem with my site not ranking? I'm almost positive it's the backlink profile I have. I've done nothing but white hat optimization on the site and I've never bought links or anything like that. The website is my own personal site - we offer web design services. So I'm thinking that some of the larger websites we have may be hurting us because of the footer links. Not sure though.

Anyway, I've been trying to find someone for months now just to look at the site and be like "hey... this is what you need to do" . The sub pages in my site are what I'm trying to rank more than the home page. (if that helps with anything)

Any help is appreciated!

That's the generic answer everyone gives. I'm looking for someone who can actually analyze the situation and give credible advice
 
Probably need a bit more info - what have you done to your site, any link building?
How big is your site? How many articles? How many visitors?
what sort of keywords are you targeting?
and what do you really want/expect?

you after staying totally whitehat? Or do you want to do SEO ?
 
First you would need to say:"Hey, I would like to rank for these KWs ..."

But even without this I can tell you that your on page SEO is not good, no matter which KWs you're targeting
 
The keywords I'm targeting are local keywords for web design and graphic design in my area. I've done some forum posting, signatures, and I have a footer link on my clients sites. The competition is very low for what I'm trying to rank for. The site probably has roughly 70 pages. Only about 10 of them I really want to rank for.

I have a highly optimized google local listing and other listings as well. I'm ok with going a little black hat - but the thing is I don't want to risk rankings in the future if I start to gain momentum.

But the majority of my pages don't rank at all. I think I may have been penalized or something because there is no way that my rankings should be nonexistent on some of my keywords.

I guess your KWs are this + the name of your town, right?

As I told you, your on-page sucks, also, the site loads really slow on my side.
 
yes. those plus the local name of town. Some reason BHW prevented me from saying that in the reply.
I need to go in and look at page load speed and try to help that.

My main site is built so that you get to the home page - see what type of company i am - look at my portfolio, etc
I have sub pages all throughout my site - each sub page is for a specific service that I provide.

What I'm hoping for is to boost my overall main domain so that the domain authority rises - shich would help out all of my pages in general
I have a lot of clients that link to me, so I'm just not sure how I should be managing those links and to which pages they should link to. For example I have a landscape lighting company. I can link to my main website domain - or i could link to their individual portfolio page on my website - or I can link to the web design page. I'm not sure the best way to handle it.
 
You're thinking too much about which page the client is going to link to once you do the site. Also, have in mind that these sites are new, so their links don't pass much authority, if any.

Your home page SEO is not good, I already told you.

Crave Win Marketing - (that's fine, but who is going to search for you by this keyword?)
It's time to take your business to the next level. (what are you trying to rank for with this heading?)
Our designers aren't afraid to flex their muscles (Google might as well think that your site is about bodybuilding)
SEO, Web Development, Social Media, Printing, Trade Shows (finally something, but Google robots are totally lost now, they are not sure what your site is about at the end)
 
That's a good point. I need to rework my home page headers

Is this affecting my sub pages?
 
Let me put it this way, you have 3 problems at the moment.

1. Slow site (to me it shows that it need 9 seconds to load). This might be temporary but I don't know
2. On-page seo does not exist (for the home page). Other pages seem to have basic on-page done good.
3. You need much better link profile. Your mosquito and lighting clients are not something that is going to help you beat the competitors.

I don't know, looking at the competition, it seems like I could make a page on my site, rank it in 2 weeks and start banking :) What is the size of your town/market? is there enough searches for these KWs, are people searching these KWs at all?
 
Well that was the same thing I thought too when I first started my business. The town is very small (100,000 MAYBE). But it's a very bo-dunk redneck type of town. Lots of handshake deals and personal networking. Referrals are king out here. The clients out here don't pay much for web design like they do in larger markets (houston, dallas). But it's my home town and I've gotten a good name out here. Not much competition for what I do.

And normally my onsite SEO with a few backlinks to a new site is enough to get sites ranking out here - simply because there's no companies out here locally that care about even trying. The majority of people that come into my office don't know what SEO stands for.

Back to my site - what do you think would help my link profile? Am I doing things right? Is there any glaring issues?

a nice, big chunk of cash and that's the painful truth. Don't go with crappy links anymore, you need quality now....but since your market is not big I am not sure that this will pay of on a long run. It really depends what your goals are, do you wanna stay a local company or do you want to spread across texas/nation? Since you're on internet, you're global already, you just need to rank for "web design dallas tx" or something like that...
 
I want to rank locally. There has to be a way
 
You not even ranking in google local listings?
maybe you need some citations ?
some reviews from your customers on google local?
 
I show up occasionally for my local listing - I have 4 reviews at the moment. I should have a ton of citations.
The problem is that most queries for my services don't pull up local listings at all.

I think something is wrong with the backlink profile or i am doing something wrong.
 
Get an ahrefs report for your site, if you don't already have one.
you need a raw report, then look at the links you have and the anchor text, percentages etc.

i think exact anchors should be around 10/20% for any particular keyword you are trying to rank for?
do the same for the top spots for your keywords, and compare notes.
that would be a good start.
 
Op, I can make a case study. I will buy a domain and hosting create a web site, rank for 5 KWs of your choice and once I rank it you can buy it from me. How about it ?:)
 
I have no doubt you could do that - but I'm not buying any website.
I came to this forum looking for help and analysis of my link profile - I thought this was a good community for advice and suggestions but apparently I was wrong. I will try and find people who will lend a hand elsewhere.
