Need help with school project [app related]

Part of my school project is getting a budget estimate for an application we need to hypothetically have developed for a company.

The app needs to:
- have a lead capture screen as soon as the application opens (simple first name, phone number and email is sufficient)
- opens to a screen which shows a 3D model of the product
- allows you to choose components of the product, swap them for other components which help create a better, more custom project.

So if we use the example of a laptop for this application:
- Shows 3D model of the laptop
- Allows you to mix and match with all customisation options available
- Allows you to swap in a bluray player, more RAM, a bigger solid state drive, etc

And the final part is when it shows you your new, custom product, with all the specific output changes; so again in the example of the laptop
- Screen will appear
- Shows RAM
- Shows CPU stats

And all of this information should auto-save to the particular lead who entered their email address, name and phone number initially.

I know this is quite a big project, and I don't want a cheap guess type figure - it's for a school project so doesn't need to be exact but reasonable.

Should the application be a standalone and run on the desktop or want it to run on a browser?

This can be done in Adobe Flash for under $1000.

It should run on iPad.. and be an android/apple application.

- Adobe flash desktop application cost and timeframe
- Phone application cost and timeframe

And no, it is just an estimate for a school project, I do not need it developed.

Adobe flash desktop application can be done for $1000 with 48 hrs timeframe.
Apple/Android application be designed for as low as $400 assuming we use animated Gifs for 3d customization instead of rendering it using mobile graphics chipset. The Gifs will be rendered and exported in 3d though.

I'd say around $1500-$2000 total.

I was expecting upwards of $10,000+ for the app development?

Like I said, this would need to be professional; so cost wouldn't be an issue.

The budget is cheap because we're not integrating a 3d engine in the mobile app and that too won't cost anymore than $1000-$1500. My pricing is only for a single product so I don't know how many products you have on your mind. If you can pay $10k+, I'd be more than happy to receive it and polish up the app to look even more professional with animation effects and such.
