Need help with proxy firewall

I'm new to this so please bear with me....

I installed proxy-firewall yesterday, followed all the instructions to the T, and I can't get it to work. After setting up my rules and installing all the current proxy IP's, when I test the results using ipaddress or ip2location, the IP address that comes back is not one of the ones from my proxy list - it keeps coming back with my real IP address.

I've tried installing, uninstalling, reinstalling - can't get it to work.

I have Windows XP, a modem for my DSL and a router for my wireless network. Would any of these be causing it not to work? I really need to get this up and running and would appreciate any help I can get.
