My website is tech support related niche.

Start manually building your backlink profile then. Use Ahrefs to find out what links your competitors have and start making the same ones. As it grows, you can outsource if you feel the need to.

There's one interesting approach applicable for both scenarios, whether you already have your keywords, or you're still in ideation stage for your keywords.
Start tracking keywords in top-100:

I'm tracking all domains from top-100 for 3 batches of keywords and analyze their dynamics.

This will give you data on your further competitor research.
