Need help with my website - Ecommerce

So I've created a website in the past and have some basic knowledge of whats up.
So I went out and purchased a wordpress theme/plugin (dokan). It seems to work though i'm terrible at CSS or anything to do with coding.
I just have a mental blank and kinda go *huwatt??*

I can sorta get by with just filling the basic fields and so, all in all.. okay..
But my site still looks like a hack job.. spiced, pasted, thrown in to stick..

I've had freelancers try to make a logo and banner (they look okay -haven't updated the new ones)
Had someone guy try write an article about benefits of leveraging online sales platform (once again, its very specific to my site) - not sure how to promote this correctly.. any thoughts?

I've recently bough a product from SEOPEZ to build a bunch of seo backlinks to create traffic by improving ranking (Not sure of that either as i'm noob with keywords) - But that one looks promising most of all.
Had a popup created to it kinda grabs the customers attention to register, so hoping that will give me some decent email leads, and what not.. Hoping someone can help me understand how create a good email list.

basically, i'm just at a loss at the moment. I've spend over $700 on this site, and its still looks like shit, and i'm just worried that I'm digging myself a hole.
If anyone can suggest, comment, even tell me what an idiot i am, i'll take it in stride and try to learn from it.

Go to treehouse, pay 25 bucks per month and learn webdesign like a pro. I am following their courses for some months now and I feel the difference. They have 2 weeks free trial. Give it a try, depending on other designers at the beginning when your budget is not that much might not be the best investment.

just go on youtube and look for tuts on there, 1,000's for free.

I'm no expert with coding, so I can't help you there. With the traffic problem though, I can suggest just buying it and getting your profit through Adsense, at least for the moment. There are sources like webtrafficgeeks and traffmagic for that which I think work well. Can't guarantee anything though. As for the writing bit, try finding someone who can create broad scopes while including your targeted KW and niche audience. Works for us.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll have a look. Ive recently found a pretty simple web design plugin/theme that seems to work.
I'll trial it out more and provide a feedback.

I haven't played with adsense before, but i'll have a tinker and see how I can add that in..

Lets hope its as simple as signing up, finding the plugin, and whacking it into a widget space.

When you sign up for adsense get the responsive code and just add it to your Text widget and the ad will resize automatically so there is no need for another plugin, if your theme has built in banner areas then add the same code and it will fit in them. by using responsive code from adsense it will automatically resize on mobiles and tablets/

Thanks mate! Thats really helpful. I'll give that a shot today. I had a look at traffmagic and they seem pretty good pricing. You used them before? adsense safe?
