Hello guys!

I've been developing soccer site and I'm stuggling to bring home the bacon. :)

My site has around 1700 unique visitors and around 4000 impressions daily and yet it fails to produce any significant income. I'm earning around 0,5 bucks/day from Adsense and nothing from betting affilliates. My traffic is mostly from US/UK and all content is unique...some google traffic too.

Can you please check out the site and make your suggestions what to change in regards of ad placement, ad choice, design and everything? :) I know it has some potential and could bring in better revenue.

Btw, what do you think this site is worth?

URL is - www(dot)soccer-magazine(dot)com

thanks a lot for your help

You should definitely place the adsense code in the better position if you want to earn more from it. Also, have you thought about making a co-site with some betting in it? Maybe it is a good idea to write an upcoming match review and add an affiliate link from ticketmaster.com ... just my two cents :)

P.S I also recommend cloaking the current affiliate links you have like the one from pinnaclesports.

Thanks mate, main question would be which position is better? :) I know this doesn't work...to tell you frankly, I don't know where to put and wouldn't like to change the theme all over again. Although, maybe it wouldn't be that bad

Yea its a nice site...How do you build that, it seems like a lot of work?

1.I don't see any soccer related ads? The adsense is way off..
2.Do you sell any Gear?
3.Play around with the adsense placement, have it towards the top, above the fold, so you would see it without scrolling

This link image will show you the best placement

It is really hard work. All the articles are written by me and one other reporter...I've been working on this site since summer probably and it is becoming my worst nemesis :) Hard work, no money...like in some third world country lol :D

Adsense ads are off but I don't know how to influence them. My site is full of soccer related keywords, and yet adsense shows wedding dress ads.

I have to find decent gear affilliate to promote...need to check CJ or smth. On my 24' monitor adsense is visible without scrolling but will definately try your tip. Should optimize for smaller resolutions.

Thanks for your effort mate

No problem its a great site, i'm sure you will succeed..
I must say, that adsense is very weird....

reinie answered that really well for me. Btw, you have a great looking website full of interesting info, I am not a football fan myself but I spent like 5 minutes looking at Becks cars :D it is really rare to see such a quality website on bhw. Keep doing the good job and the money will come. It is a question of time.

yeah, adsense is definitely weird... It doesn't shows any related ads... maybe some on page seo would help???

according to Site Trail daily income through adsense should be at least $10

thanks for the support guys, I really appreciate it

I was just thinking while eating...

I had the same thing happen to me on a site before right after I...

1.Disabled my "popular tags" widget
2.Deleted my "seo search term tagging" plugin

Maybe try to put a popular tag widget close to the adsense.
The search term tagging basically records and displays the terms that brought people to your site, this displaying more relevant ads to what they searched.

put cpm ads... I heard zedo and tribalfusion are good...

I tried it, some pay very little and I can't get approved in big rollers cause I don't have enough traffic.

Why don't you try ebay affiliate network. I own a soccer worldcup website and had good success with ebay affiliate network during the worldcup season. Also, adsense is a good option too.

Doesnt Crashed's 30 day challenge cover someone doing the very same thing? They have a soccer blog and show you how to make money from it? Maybe check that out.

It's a great site, but I think you're in a niche that is dominated by big name players like Soccernet, Skysports, Dailymail etc. I think you might want to looking into targeting a specific niche within your site. Being a soccer fan myself, I frequent the previous 3 sites mentioned.

I've also seen some people lock content. Highlights are really popular and if you have a way of driving traffic to your site after a Champions League match you can lock the content and make some cash that way.

Use an automated adsense placement plugin. My favorite is whydowork adsense. Left top placement of 336x280 on posts will help for sure.
