After the panda/penguin updates my website ranking went from the #1 position on some really good keywords in my industry to page 10. The company that I use for seo told me that all the now spammy backlinks need to be removed form the site. They are white hat and use to be as well but according to them google accepted this back linking method; now flash forward a year and half later they are still removing them. Is there anything I can do different? black hat? I am at a loss...

Yes and no.
If you only send likes to your homepage, rankings of your homepage will increase, inner pages wont.
Also try tweets/retweets

Yes I know nothing when it comes to this.. I will be the first to admit it. I need help and do not know where to turn so here I am. I cant IM anyone my web address for them to take a look at yet. so ill keep posting and try to learn as much as I can s I go. I need someone to say this is how to get your website back to page 1 it will take this amount of time and cost this much money. period. I don't know if I am looking in the right place?
