Hi, I have a computer running on a 2003 server. My cousin not being smart got onto porn getting a worm on the computer. The worm won't allow me into any documents or anything. Do you have any idea how to clear out this worm. Brought it to best buy they told me none of their software is compatable with a 2003 computer. Which makes no sense to me. They work on computers they should know how to fix it. Any ideas how to maybe fix it? Or where to bring it.

Try starting up in safe mode and do a scan with your antivirus or restore to a point before you got the worm.

try mse, or maybe webroot? bestbuy will always try to sell you on a new computer. A 2003 server isn't that old. I mean it's 10 years old but it should still run.

Please describe what kind of worm you are encountering. What kind of message you get, what kind of performance do you see, what kind of processes do you see.
The simplest method is to install an anti-virus, and anti-spyware.

install Microsoft security essential and do a scan. if it couldn't remove the check the name and post here.

Firstly lets check if something is booting at startup. from safemode.
Start / Run -type msconfig
Go to the startup tab, check in that list for funny file names and locations untick anything that looks suspicious.
reboot, download mbar rootkit finder, this will scan your drivers and drive for issues.
(or im not aloud to post urls! )
malwarebytes. org /products/mbar/

this will take awhile. once it is done it will report if anything is infected or not. if nothing is infected lets try repairing the o/s.
safemode again -
start / run - cmd (right click run as administrator)
type sfc/scannow
this will check your windows files for corruption.

leave it to run see how we get on!
