I'm running into a persistent issue where I keep getting hit with Google verification captchas when using proxies through Oxylabs with Adspower. This is really slowing down my workflow and making automation nearly impossible.
Has anyone found effective ways to avoid these captchas when using proxies?

I've tried:
Rotating IPs more frequently
Using residential proxies instead of datacenter ones, I have also tried Mobile Proxies
Adjusting request timing/patterns

But I'm still getting flagged constantly.
I'm also wondering if there are better proxy providers than Oxylabs that integrate well with Adspower and have better success rates avoiding Google's detection systems. I need something reliable for web scraping/automation tasks.

Google’s definitely getting smarter. You might want to try Bright Data or NetNut since some users have better luck with them. Also, using tools like Multilogin or Incognition can help make your sessions appear more natural. Sometimes it comes down to the full setup, not just the proxy.
 
Google’s super picky when things don’t match up. Best to use solid mobile proxies, go easy on how many accounts you run per IP, avoid switching IPs too much, and always warm up accounts gradually.
 
If you’re serious about stealth automation, you have to think beyond proxies. You need a full-stack identity strategy: IP + browser + TLS + interaction pattern. Don't overlook TLS and HTTP header fingerprinting, Google inspects handshake patterns just as much as IP reputation.

If you're still hitting captchas even after trying residential and mobile proxies, it's likely a fingerprint or behavior issue rather than just the IP itself. AdsPower setups can sometimes reuse similar fingerprints, which Google picks up on quickly. Try diversifying browser profiles more aggressively and mimicking real human browsing patterns, including randomized delays instead of static intervals. As for proxies, mobile proxies are your best bet for Google, but only if they're true carrier-based with natural IP rotation,emulated or recycled setups tend to get flagged just as fast.
 
Are you running sessions in headless or visible mode? I noticed Google flags headless more aggressively even with residential proxies. Also, are you injecting fingerprint JS or relying fully on Adspower’s defaults?

How big is the difference between residential proxies, mobile and datacenter ones in your case?
I've been using Oxylabs ISP proxies and since Google stopped supporting num=100 parameter is much much worse. Trying to find a solution.

I found that Bright Data ISP proxies don't allow scraping Google. It's not easy with them.
 
which type of scraping or automation task? May be problems with not proxies but Google detects unusual activity on those accounts.
 
I'm using a bot to :

  1. search a keyword in Google (get a lot of captchas recently)
  2. click on a website
  3. scrolls on that website


Someone suggested that settings may be off. I'll try different ones and see what works.

Bright Data's chatbot says:

Regular proxies (including Residential, Datacenter, or ISP proxies) cannot be used to target Google search results directly—attempts will be blocked or rerouted

I've still tried it and got this error:

Residential Failed (bad_endpoint): Requested site is not available for immediate residential (no KYC) access mode. Ask your account manager to get full residential access for targeting this site. https://docs.brightdata.com/proxy-networks/residential/network-access#robots-txt-in-immediate-access-residential

Seems you need to do KYC to unlock it. not sure if it's worth it as no other proxy was able to bypass google search captcha.
 
That usually happens when Google flags your IP range. Datacenter proxies trigger CAPTCHAs fast since they’re shared too much. Mobile proxies work better because they rotate through real carrier networks, making the traffic look more natural. Also check your browser setup — even clean IPs can get flagged if fingerprints repeat.
 
i had same issue. use residential or mobile proxies and keep sticky session so ip not change mid login. warm the ip first by normal browsing, use real browser profile and not too fast actions, slower automation means less captcha. when captcha show solve it manually or use a trusted solving service for legit work. test one profile then scale.

Interesting....Do you have more insight on this and/or any solution to TLS and HTTP header fingerprinting? Are there any proxy providers that are good in handling this?

Google is probably the worst “captcha surface” to judge proxies on because it’s not just IP reputation — it’s risk scoring across the whole session (IP + browser fingerprint + cookie history + behavior). So if you’re getting hammered even after switching proxy types, it usually means the stack is inconsistent rather than “Oxylabs is bad”.

A few things that typically move the needle more than “rotate more”:

1) Stop rotating aggressively for Google sessions​

Counterintuitive, but for Google sticky > rotate in most real workflows.
If you rotate too often (or mid-session), you keep showing up as a “new unknown” with no history and that triggers verification loops.

Try: one stable proxy per AdsPower profile + keep it sticky for the entire session/day.

2) Give each profile a “trust runway”​

If profiles are fresh/empty, Google treats them like disposable bots.

  • Keep cookies/local storage persistent
  • Don’t start with automated actions
  • Do some normal browsing first (low volume, slower cadence)

3) Fingerprint + geo coherence matters​

Common mismatch combos that trigger extra checks:

  • IP country ≠ browser timezone/locale/language
  • WebRTC leaking a different IP/region
  • DNS location vs exit IP location mismatch
  • Fonts / hardware entropy too “generic” or too identical across many profiles
In AdsPower: make sure timezone + language + geolocation are aligned with the proxy geo, and lock it per profile.

4) “Residential” can still be noisy​

A lot of residential pools are heavily abused. You may have “residential” that’s already burned in Google’s eyes. Mobile can help, but mobile + bad session discipline still gets captchas.

5) Consider captcha is your signal, not your enemy​

For scraping/automation, the winning approach is usually:

  • reduce risk signals (coherence + stability)
  • reduce volume per identity
  • and only then decide if you need heavier measures (e.g., SERP API / headful / real browser actions)

6) On “better providers than Oxylabs”​

Oxylabs isn’t inherently the problem — they’re one of the larger players. The bigger difference is pool cleanliness + session control + whether you’re getting true isolation (dedicated vs shared behavior). For Google, dedicated/stable endpoints often outperform huge shared pools, even if the brand is smaller.

If budget isn’t the issue, prioritize providers that offer:

  • real sticky sessions (not “best effort”)
  • clear controls (manual rotate vs timed rotate)
  • consistent ASN/ISP and clean pool policy
  • support that will actually troubleshoot (not just “rotate more”)

Quick config I’d test (simple)​

  1. One AdsPower profile = one proxy (no sharing)
  2. Sticky session (no rotation during session)
  3. Set timezone/locale/geolocation to match proxy country
  4. Disable WebRTC leaks / ensure it matches
  5. Do a short “warm browse” before automation
  6. Slow down and reduce repeated patterns (Google punishes repetition hard)
 
Easiest thing you can probably do is find a google parser.
 
Google CAPTCHA triggers are based on three things: IP reputation where Google maintains their own scoring and datacenter IPs trigger almost always while residential sometimes and mobile rarely. request velocity where too many searches too fast from one IP triggers it. browser fingerprint where headless browser markers trigger even on clean IPs.

fix: switch to residential or mobile proxies if you are on datacenter. use a real browser engine with stealth patches. implement human like delays between requests.

rotate user agents. if CAPTCHAs still appear integrate 2Captcha or CapSolver at $2 to 3 per 1000 solves. also consider Google Custom Search API for small volumes, 100 queries per day free and $5 per 1000 after. often cheaper than proxy plus solving costs combined.
