Need Help With Cpanel

Ok, had enough now. Been using plesk for a while now, and have not got a clue about cpanel anymore. Trying to add a domain to cpanel. Added the domain, but when I am uploading wordpress via fantistico or whatever it is called I get to this problem.

The here bit what do I put in, because if I put something in, my website is like http://www.mywebsite.com/mywebsite. And I just want http://mywebsite.com. I have tried putting / which does not work and when I leave it blank it does not work, what am I meant to do?

Leave it blank then. The instructions are quite clear.
I've just done this 10 minutes ago and it worked perfectly.

I've been away a while and fantasico never looked like this and there was no mention
of fantasico when I just made the installation.

Also I did make an error and an error screen appeared telling me my issue.

it should work if you have nothing entered in that field, check that there are no hidden spaces or any thing in the box. When you say it does not work, what happens? You can always store it in a folder e.g. /mywebsite and then move the files to your root (though I'm not too sure how well this would work having never tried it).
 
I have just used that sofaculous panel on a new host I am trying out.

Leave that one blank or it will install a subdomain /.

I haven't had the problem you are talking about once I leave it blank, you can always change www. To http in wordpress admin.
 
It says you can leave it empty and they will create the folder for you. I think its Mojo Marketplace now and not Fantastico. what hosting are you using?
 
Like everyone says leave it blank, I can confirm this as i have just done it this second to double check.
 
When I leave it blank I get this message

It's should then offer you the option to overwrite files. Click this unless it's the same domain you are installing.
 
Delete those files in file manager from cpanel then and start again.
Which is what I did.
 
from the photo you posted it looks like you have already installed wordpress, what happens when you go to yourdomain/wp-admin?

Otherwise go into your hosting file manager and delete all of the wp files and try again
 
Actually don't delete the WP files, if you already have a domain on that hosting you may end up deleting the website that you had there. Go back and check that you have the domain pointing to the correct name servers, if the new domain is pointed to the same ns as the old domain, it's the likely cause of your problems

Yes it offers me to an option to overwrite, will this not affect my site which is already on the hosting?

Do this and you will be Ok. Don't forget to delete the database.

If you want me to do it I will but it's best you learn.

If you have added the new domain in cpanel----add on domains and you are installing wp fresh onto that domain and nothing else then you are good to overwrite

If you have tried to install wp already it will have created a database so click on overwrite and it will install fine.
 
Thanks for everyone's help. Just had not used cpanel for so long because I have been using plesk.
