Guys, I've decided to quit smoking. I feel that i cannot breath when I go to sleep, it's like air does not get into my lungs, I am sweating etc. It takes around 1 hour to fall asleep which concerns me. I need a good ecig....

I smoke around 30-40 fags a day so if anyone has any idea regarding a good ecig I'd greatly appreciate. :)

I know there are a lot of guys that are using them and I don't trust review sites (lol) but I trust bhw members.

    Cheers!

I've heard hypnotherapy works wonders for some people, e-cigs aren't exactly quitting properly

In the 1900's US General Surgeon recommended smoking with slogans like "it's good for your health".

Ecigs are new, less than 3-4 years. No research has been done about the health impact they have on your body. Nobody knows exactly what health impacts the oils you inhale have.

Just saying, you could be swapping an evil with a greater evil. Think about it..

So you're quitting smoking by finding a new way to do it? Not so good.

I try to replace the 4k+ substances from fags with only one - nicotine. :)

Do a cold turkey or you wont quit it...

    Cold turkey:

"Cold turkey" describes the actions of a person who abruptly gives up a habit or addiction rather than gradually easing the process through gradual reduction or by using replacement medication
    ~wikipedia

I did it in on a very cold night outside a doctor's ECG room in Nov 2011, and am living today simply because I took that extreme (!) step then :).

they says.. E-cig has more side effects than tobacco due to the chemical one inhale while puffing. until today no health organization has endorsed e-cigs. some of the major countries like Canada banned it as well. as said above.."you could be swapping an evil with a greater evil" in my opinion there should not be any replacement while quitting from addiction. it is also observed while stopping any addiction for a while and then returning back to it increase desire of it than it was earlier. you can go for a cold turkey method which usually effective on 10% people or can gradually decrease the quantity in 3 days. it is said.. any addiction can be eliminate if someone can stay away from it for 21 days.

+Rep! If you can't stay cold turkey, then return them before you smoke one. :D

Seriously, if I could do it and stay off smoking, then anyone of you can do it too.

I've been enjoying BluCigs for a year now. I suggest using disposables as they are very easy to lose.

Just a quick update, still no fag! :)
I went out 3 days with beers/whiskey and nothing, didn't think about fags and did not feel like i'd have one. Still amazed on how easy it is if you really want to quit this habit.

Also, might be in my brain or not but I already feel way better in terms of breathing, which is KPOW! :D

The craving stays on for a while and becomes painful in a week or so. But if you can overcome it that week, it will be gone soon. The first week or so is the most dangerous when you can fall back to it, but after that it goes out like a fanned-out smoke!:)

One thing you'd notice that relaxation counts. You shouldn't be forcing yourself to stop any craving, instead take off your mind in a relaxed way helps. Any side-effect should also be tackled in a relaxed, cool way.

I switched cigarettes for vappinig a few months back. It was the best decision I ever made. I can breathe a hell of a lot better now and I don't smell like an ash trey. I can vape anywhere I want now. It didn't take that much effort to stop smoking cigarettes.

So here is what you do:

First run to a gas station that has a $20 kit. It should come with an e-cig, battery and a charger.
Second, find a smoke shop that sells nicotine juice. If your a heavy smoker then I recommend 20+mg
Third, when you run out of juice in the cartridge pop off the top and refill it.

You're going to trade off cigarettes for vape juice. So stock up on it.
In about a week your risk of lung cancer will drop to 0% and you will be able to breathe again.

    There are some side effects:
If you vape to much you can get massive head aches. Prepare for this because you will vape a lot during your first week. Don't vape too much.
You will break out - this is do to the tobacco toxins being removed from your body.
    Itchy and sweaty
    spitting up black shit.

Okay so there are thousands of chemicals in tobacco. The additives in tobacco cause cancer. Nicotine is not a carcinogen meaning it does not cause cancer. Once you start vaping you will start to reverse the effects of cancer.

I bought a Joye 510 vaporizer and it should be here tomorrow. I can't wait to ditch this gas station ecig :)

    good luck.

Who says that e-cigs have more side effects than tobacco?
There are only 3-4 chemicals in a e-cig:
Vegetable glycerin, water, nicotine and Propylene glycol

    Regular cigarettes:

    • Ammonia - a powerful household cleanser
    • Angelica Root Extract - causes cancer in animals
    • Arsenic - an ingredient in rat poison
    • Benzene - an ingredient used in synthetic rubber and dye manufacturing
    • Butane - a gas contained in lighter fluid
    • Carbon monoxide - proven poisonous gas
    • Cadmium - found in batteries
    • Cyanide - a known deadly poison
    • DDT - insecticide
    • Ethyl Furoate - known to cause liver damage in some animals
    • Lead - can be poisonous if exposed to high doses
    • Formaldehyde - used to preserve dead things
    • Methoprene - another insecticide
    • Megastigmatrienone - natural chemical that comes from grapefruit juice
    • Maltitol - sweetener used by diabetics
    • Naphthalene - found in mothballs
    • Methyl Isocyanate - released accidentally in the mid-eighties in Bhopal, India, killing two thousand people
    • Polonium - radioactive element known to cause cancer

"until today no health organization has endorsed e-cigs." Really? I have heard, read, and watched doctors endorse the e-cig. Including Dr. Oz on national television.

About nicotine from people who matters:
    http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000953.htm
    http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Tobacco/smokeless

Be wise... know how nicotine acts when used, abused, or even when it is withdrawn after a steady abuse.

    P.S.:
    Quote:
"The US Food and Drug Administration http://www.fda.gov/newsevents/newsroom/pressannouncements/ucm173222.htm the components of e-cigarette cartridges in 2009. They identified trace levels of tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) - cancer-causing compounds commonly found in traditional cigarettes, albeit at a much lower concentration."
    Ref.:
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/apr/03/e-cigarette-smokers-inhaling-unknown

Read the whole article. It has all the answers, IMHO... care about your life, then study minutely and wisely, which can save it and make it whole again.

The craving stays more than just a week. I have friends that stopped smoking years ago..and even today when I smoke in front of them or we go in a club , after a few drinks..they start to desire a cig.

If you smoke 30-40 cig./day .. you are a heavy smoker and in your case the best method to quit smoking is fear. Go to a doctor, for sure he will tell you that you have some health issues.

I gave a general view that meant that OP should expect an intense craving in a week or so. That's the time, and every time a craving happens as you remarked, when OP needs to be on alert about passive smoke or even the killer thought of "just once, only this time and never again"... it's general, and not a time-bound one-off type of feeling/craving. But it HAPPENS, and many times again and again.

    P.S.:

I have effectively stopped smoking. But I too would get an intense craving if my friends smoke for a while in my company. It's natural, but it also depends on my own mental conditioning whether I'd succumb to the desire or not. I wouldn't stay there and become helpless. I'd request them to stop their smoking, or would politely walk away from there. I'd relax and regain self-control... I'm that much self-confident now... :)

Winning over the craving at its first attack (happens anywhere during the first week or so) sets up that conditioning of mind over it. There would obviously many more instances, but that first win will help win again and again... and yet again.

And I know about what's smoking 20~40 cigs a day is. I used to smoke hard cigs and my friends used to feel that I was a greater smoker than them. lol. Btw, I began smoking at age 15 or so and stopped it after 35 years. Yeah, I do know something about smoking... :)
