Need help with alexa rank

If some one could offer some advice it would be greatly appreciated, i'm new to internet marketing and i have recently started a site that my site grader is telling me i have 845 inbound links to, but no Alexa ranks. I don't understand if i have a bunch of unique content and heaps of links why don't i have a Alexa rank? what am i doing wrong? and does the alexa rank really matter?

Do you have visitors? Alexa ranks aren't based on how many backlinks you have, but rather on whether or not you have any visitors.

Read how it works. You have to have visitors that have the tool bar installed because there is no other way for them to track visitors.

Alexa rank doesnt really matter. Its just one way to monitor progress. I wouldnt go out of my way to lower it. Your other seo efforts should make it lower automatically

is the page rank the same in regards to it depending on traffic or is also primarily affected by back links

IMHO Alexa - I don't give 2 shits about.

If you want to increase it, just buy dump traffic. You can get like 10,000 for around $7 I think here.

Alexa rank is as per website traffic. U need to get good traffic to improve ur alexa ranking.

Alexa rank isn't a reliable estimate of traffic, but a lot of advertisers do still rely on it.

If you install the toolbar and set your website as your homepage, you'll end up getting some ranking just from that.
