    Hello guys,

    i have a problem with a script and WizGizmo offered me a suggestion to make this thread, he said he is sure that one of the people on the forum who are very good at script editing would help me. Here is my problem:

    i have downloaded the nulled version of emeeting dating script from this great forum. The problem is: when i uploaded all the folders and files to ftp server of my hosting. i got this message:

    Internal Server Error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@mydomain.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    N.B: I changed the domain email

    after trying to know what is the problem, i found out the the .htaccess was making this error and after i removed it, i could install the script smoothly and the site runs greatly. but if i added it again, i get the same error message.

    Here is the code in the .htaccess:

    Code:
    ############################################################################
    # .htaccess file to help prevent against hackers #
    #                                                                          #
    #                                                                          #
    #    (c) eMeeting LTD - www.datingscripts.co.uk                            #
    #                                                                          #

    <Files .htaccess>
    order allow,deny
    deny from all
    </Files>
    what i should do in this file, what to remove?, what to edit?

    i have installed many scripts before on my hosting without any problems so i think the problem is from the .htaccess file itself.

    please help me im desperate :(

    It is a problem with your server rather than the htaccess file, I have just tested it on my localhost with no errors.

    Go to CPanel and go to Error Logs and copy the results here.

    I don't think scripts come with bad files. So there is probably something wrong on your end.

    See if you have a double .htaccess file on your server. Common mistake throwing this error.
    Most servers come with one standard, especially on shared servers.
    If there isn't a double check if you have hidden files in the folder they might not always be visible.

    Some hosting companies don't allow .htaccess files.
    Inform with your hosting company if this is the case.

    Also i'm not getting any wiser of the htaccess file.
    I would need a copy off the script as well to see what they are trying to achieve.
    If you still have this error tomorrow pm me.
    I'm a bit high right now and all code just seems completely illogical to me at this moment.

    Hey tahersaid...

    are you using cpanel???
    can you access the apache2.conf file...

    I suspect the problem lies there...

    Code:
    <Directory /var/www >
        AllowOverride All
        Allow from all
    </Directory>

    this is the right way, th AllowOveride MUST be All,
    but if there is a directive for a folder higher up than that set to "none" then this could happen.

    e.g:
    Code:
    <Directory /var >
        AllowOverride none
        Allow from all
    </Directory>

    This could also be a problem in your apache3/sites-available config...

    if you cant access the conf files, let me know, I will dig into it

    Cheers

    J

    What you could try is just remove the following line from the .htaccess file

    Code:
    Options +FollowSymLinks
    This might not be the best solution, but it might be set on a higher level in apache.

    Cheers

    C

    EDIT:::

    Found this in a apache support forum...

    Code:
    The line: 'Options +FollowSymLinks' may cause problems
    with some server configurations. It is required for use of mod_rewrite, but may already
    be set by your server administrator in a way that dissallows changing it in
    your .htaccess file. If using it causes your server to error out, comment it out (add # to
    beginning of line), reload your site in your browser and test your sef url's. If they work,
    it has been set by your server administrator and you do not need it set here.
    cheers again

    C

    Sorry for upping a year old post, but I have the same problem and when I delete .htaccess or comment out that one line, I no longer get the internal server error, but nothing is loading either. I just see a white page..

    What would be the next step? Can I post a log for more information? Would it be an Apache problem or rather a database problem?

    Edit: seems like emeeting is not supported on my host since it requires IonCube..
