Hi All,

I have been using SB a lot recently though i am having trouble getting a competitor down in rankings for one of my keywords, he still ranks in top 3 when the rest on page 1 are my own websites, just his sits in the middle.

Does anyone have any advice or tips using SB on how i can knock him down to page 2 or put him at the very bottom?

Any help would be very grateful.

Work on your own site rather than negative seo'ing your competition.

Build up some quality links to your domain, but for the love of god don't start going down the road of negative SEO

While I don't agree in doing negative SEO as a tactic, the guy posted this under Black Hat SEO for a reason and I am not sure there is too much concern for negative SEO.

However, I will say, as others have said, working on your own site, building out clear strategies in how you promote it, and developing content that engages, wows and make people want to share it with others is a better long term strategy.

There is plenty of work one could do on their own website to improve ranking, experience and conversion, that focusing on others just doesn't always make sense.

Hope that helps!

My understanding is after the new algo updates negative seo is a lot less effective if at all effective

I agree that this is a blackhat method but why try to bring him down using this strategy??
Once he finds out that he goes down he will start building stonger links and again outrank you and then you're back where you came from ...

You're obviously not hitting it hard enough. Use a single keyword, and invest $100 in crappy links. You should get around 200-300k in a day. Ping them, all of them, multiple times a day. It will work.

P.S. Karma suggests that I'm your competitor.
P.P.S. you'd be better off spending that $100 on your own site

Negative SEO works like a charm. That's how I'm ranking #1 for one of the keywords...
I think it like this way: you're going the angel way where you grow your site and rank number one and the competitor will go down in rankings hence traffic and revenue loss, what makes it different from harming them? They're going into a loss anyway.. While there are legal consequences if you do it the dark way, just don't do it blatantly like an idiot.
