Hey my website is brostep.cxx and its abysmally slow loading. I'm new so I wanted to know if 1 this is normal for them to be quite slow out of the box, and 2 what suggestions do you guys have for speeding up the website!

Any suggestions are appreciated as this is really what is holding me back right now. I'm also using GoDaddy for hosting

Thanks in advance for your time guys!

im assuming you have tried to load your blog with other web browsers and on other computers and you have cleared your browsers cache.
your blog being slow could be for any of these reasons your webhost, do you have an active caching plugin? is your wp up to date ? ...

Everything(Optimizations) looks normal on your site. It's time to switch to a new hosting provider. Godaddy simply sucks at anything but Super Bowl commercials.

Few of other Godaddy customers also had similar issues.

Yes, I am using QuickCache, I was using W3 Cache but for me Quick Cache seemed more user friendly, and I assume so as I installed less than 2 weeks ago

Thanks, thats what I was thinking may be the root of my problem, as I simply went with them for hosting as that is were I bought the domain. Another question then is it relatively straightforward to transfer my whole website and the content to another provider?

So is hostgator more highly recommended over godaddy then?

I love Godaddy (sarcastic). I once went there to purchase a domain for $5.00. At checkout, my total somehow jumped to $90. I was amazed! Didn't purchase of course.

I have many blogs at godaddy, and they are all fast.

Godaddy is nothing more than complete shit for hosting.

I agree with mickyfu - godaddy is not good choice for host.
But if you want to speed your wp - minimize the number of plugins and http requests.

Where's the site? Go-daddy has some known problems as SmartMan mentioned. I contacted them more than once and I managed to make them tell me that the problem was occurring from the server, not my site.I don't know if they had done something after that, but I have not faced any problem since. If your site is not properly optimized, I can help you out with it, but not free. PM me whenever you need it :)

In Wordpress, there is an option under the "Tools" menu to export all your posts and pages etc. That's the simplest way to migrate your content imo. So yes, it is fairly straightforward content wise. To move the whole site is a bit more tricky but there are a few guides on Google, and probably even in BHW that should help.

Have you tried StudioPress Wordpress Hosting? I think they specialised in hosting Wordpress sites.

You could also try pushing as much onto a CDN as you can - JS, CSS, images etc. This gets some pretty massive gains in site speed
