Ok So I work in a multinational and recently our global boss was here, I discussed a few points with him and he was quite impressed, so I was told by my managers to compile a document and list down my suggestions and points to make people signup in their site and help them study user behaviour and browsing patters. Theyr facing some legal issues in some countries due to cookies.

Overview - The company and site is a b2b model and most of the visitors are managers and CEOs of other big companies.

My Suggestions so far and what I will be writing in the doc -

    1) Use of heatmaps so that they can better understand where the users are clicking, if they are actually clicking on modal popups we use or not etc.

    2) Recording the browsing patterns through IP ( where cookies are unavailable ), and present small report downloads offer to the user in return of registering to the site.

    3) Allowing the user to sign up using social network accounts.

    4) Providing the user with constant financial reports etc after he signs up, customized as per the category from where he clicked on the sign up button. For example, if he was reading some articles on XYZ category and he signed up, present him reports related to XYZ category and also offer him to add more interests ( categories ) so we can know the user's taste better.

    5) Give titles to the users who spend more time on the site and praise them on their personal dashboard like "You spent 30 minutes on your last visit, you're a pro".

    6) Offer them some sort of incentive for inviting friends from linkedin ( if thats possible )

I would be really grateful if you guys could throw in some of your suggestions. Keep in mind its a B2B site of a very big company and right now they have no clue of their traffic apart from the analytics number.

    Thanks in advance :)
