I know there are plenty of posts about a mass unfollow tool however I haven't found a declarative answer. My twitter account was either spammed or hacked into. I somehow have over 50K fake followers which makes my account look pretty bad. What is the best/cheapest tool for removing these without my account being banned?

All you can do is block them manually one by one.
Why would you do that anyway? The object of having Twitter is to have as many followers as possible.

So you are complaining that you now have less following restrictions?? How many people do you think care how many followers you have and how many do you think trawl through your follower list looking for fakes?
