Need help to scroll fast in notepad

Hey this is a little weird question.
But do anybody know a way to scroll fast in notepad?

I have a 450k word list open in notepad, and I want to select all the words from 1-100k... The method I use now:
Left click on word 100k, then select all text I can see and move the pointer above the notepad window, but doing this it will take me like 15 minutes to get the first 100k words lol

why don't you save the list as a .csv and open it up in excel then just sort from there since the numbers will be on the left and you can easily flow through them all.
 
Put your cursor on line 100k.

Use the scroll bar to scroll all the way to the top of notepad.

Hold down the shift key, and click on the first word.

It will highlight everything.
 
Select first line, scroll to the line you want and then hold shift and click left mouse. Hope you got it.
 
was really tempted to say ctr+a,ctr+x,ctr+s.
But PLEASE DON'T DO THAT:-)
 
Never used excel before believe it or not.
Downloaded it now and saved the file as a .csv, so by "flowing" through them all you just mean selecting some text and move the pointer to the top?

I can see it seems to scroll faster than in notepad but still pretty slow

same in excel, if you want to select all, just go down and select the 100,000 box or wherewever you want selection to end.

Then hold down control key and shift key on keyboard.

and press up arrow on keyboard.

this should just take the selection instantly all the way to the top.

Haha, happy to help.

I'd suggest you check out some keyboard shortcuts. I imagine if you weren't familiar with holding the shift key, that there are probably a lot of other ones that would save you a significant amount of time.

You can use text splitter if you are lazy to do it manually.
