Need help to poor adsense CPC and CTR

My niche is about Gemstones and the CPC of most keywords are more than $0.8 according to Ahrefs.
I got about 200-300 unique visitors per day and most of them come from the USA, UK and Canada.
I put fixed 300*250 AdSense ad unit before and after the content, also some within the content.
While the performance was really very poor:
Last 7 days I got 1.86K page views and 4.2K impressions but only 12 clicks and $2.74 (CPC bids was only $0.96).

I really don't know why it happened and hope some guys could give me some suggestions. Thanks very much!

It's not ideal to post your niche on a public forum like this. I'm into AdSense as well and have lots of sites in different market and niches and am continually looking to add more and sell more.

With that being said, if other people get into the same market as you and have more resources and experience than you then you don't have a business.

I can help if I take a look at your site and ask you some few questions. If your CPC is that high and your traffic is targeted and consistent then you shouldn't be making anything less than $10 a day.

That's near impossible for such a little traffic and a lot of aspects should be considered, oh and don't forget, different country adsense accounts behave different.

Also, article quality, ads format, interesting ads, etc.
