Need Help - Title Tags - Best Strategy

So my websites blog has approximately 430 pages of blogs. However, each title tag to every page is the exact same. I'm wondering if it's worth my time for SEO purposes to go through every single page individually and update the title tag to the first few words of an article within that page.

So for example https://dedirock.com/blogs/2/

update the title tag to or something like that:

"ERMAC V3.0 Banking Trojan Source Code Leak"​


since the article is on that page.

Requesting indexing a couple of times won’t hurt your site, Google just ignores duplicates if nothing has changed. The smarter play is to only re-request when you’ve updated content, added backlinks, or fixed technical issues, that way the crawl actually brings results.


I’ve tested this across a few projects and noticed faster pickup when combining it with internal linking tweaks. Curious to hear if you’ve tried anything similar?
 
Ok, awesome. Thank you very much for that. To my main site I have 17 pages and just yesterday we updated all the title pages, so I'll have some data Shortly to compare. Thank you for the tip.
 
As an update, if anyone has any experience with this, please let me know. Today we updated all 434 pages of our blog and individually updated their tags to relevant content that was on the actual blog. We'll see how it goes, but I’d definitely like to hear if anyone else has done this.
 
It's absolutely worth your time to update every single one. Having the same title tag on all 430 pages is a major issue because it signals duplicate content to Google, which can hurt your rankings. A unique, descriptive title tag for each article is crucial for click-through rate (CTR) and for targeting specific keywords. It's one of the most impactful on-page SEO changes you can make.
 
Do you happen to use WordPress? If so, you can set it up using a template in Rank Math or something similar.

Even if you don't use WordPress, try looking for a similar solution for your admin panel.

In my opinion, this is a serious problem, and I would try to fix it as soon as possible.

Yo, ya we use WP, so we definitely did do it we went through every single page and updated it manually :) so now it's just maintenance and we update them as needed, thank you!
 
If it’s too many pages, prioritize your top-performing or most important posts first, then gradually update the rest.
 
I also think you should rewrite them, it's a tech SEO nightmare.

    Instead of trying to SEO-hack each numbered archive, set page 1 as canonical for all /blogs/page/x. That’s what Yoast recommends by default — it consolidates signals. Then just optimize individual posts for SEO.
    This is less sexy, but avoids “thin archive” issues.
  3. The growth hacker’s stunt
    If he wants those /blogs/2 pages to rank individually, making the meta title match the first visible post is clever. It’s unusual, but could net some long-tail clicks — and like you said, it grabs attention because people are like: “Wtf is this title on page 2?”

Yes, it’s worth it. Unique, descriptive title tags improve relevance, click-through rate, and rankings. Don’t leave them all the same.

Nay, that would be too much :eek: just the tittles and if the Yoast trick GPT described works ( I rely a lot on it for coding and SEO and it's generally quite good), it should make the process fairly quick and painless.

Yes, 100% worth it. Duplicate title tags across 430 posts is a huge missed SEO opportunity. Title tags are still one of the strongest on-page signals — both for rankings and CTR.


Instead of just pulling the first few words of the article, aim for:


  • Primary keyword near the start
  • Readable + click-worthy phrasing (not just raw text)
  • Keep it < 60 characters where possible
  • Add brand name at the end if it makes sense

If you don’t want to do it manually for 430 pages, you can script it, use SEO plugins (like Yoast/RankMath with custom variables), or bulk-edit via CMS/CSV. Even semi-automated unique titles are better than 430 duplicates :cool:

Yes, you should definitely update your title tags. Having unique, keyword-rich titles will help search engines understand your content better and improve your SEO and click-through rates. Instead of doing it by hand, think about automating the process so that the title tag for each blog post comes from the headline of the article.
 
What jumped out to me is how long that setup probably stayed unnoticed. Having 400+ posts with identical title tags feels like one of those “it works until it really doesn’t” SEO issues. I ran into something similar and only then started reading about optimizing title tags for local seo , which changed how I approach older content.
 
Your title tag is a super important signal, I would absolutely suggest changing all of them to be the same as your h1s
 
when all pages share the same title tag, google can't differentiate pages, so most won't rank. update each page title to unique, keyword focus version. this is a high impact, low cost SEO fix.
