Purchased this tool yesterday but I got this error with TBS 2.9 on window 7 64 bit

I have the same problems too, I try to install net framework 3.5 as suggested on TBS manual for 64 bit window 7, but I can't install it on my PC. Please help. :newangel:

I use window 7 and .net framework 3.5sp1 is installed as default. can you help me?

I have just been trying to figure this out as well. Have the same error page pop up!

Download .net 4,install it and then check it again

I get that error sometimes too and I *think* its either your internet or the TBS servers internet connection that has issues and have troubles verifying your account. If I recall right there is a few threads about it at TBS forums.

I also use it on a Win 7 computer so there is no compatibility issues at least

Use Revo Uninstaller and remove the 2.9+ version completely, download the 3.xxx beta version and try again.

I had the same problem before (on Win XP), and on tbs forum, the owner BS'ed me with some crap answer, saying my PC had some communications problem with the server. It was TBS 2.9 version that was giving the error after an update (regular updates, which are always more buggier than earlier ones).

But at the same time, I also had TBS beta 3.xxx version installed and it was "communicating" with the server quite smoothly. So it was only BS that the creator gave me as an answer.

What I did then was, I removed both the TBS versions completely using Revo Uninstaller and reinstalled both again (without rebooting the PC). After that both versions worked and I never got that error again (well, until the next 3.xxx version update that is, and then there were more errors).
At that time, I had stopped using the 2.9xxx latest version, and didn't wanted to use that version again because the modifications in 3.xxx were better than the 2.9xxx.

Revo had removed ALL instances of TBS from the disk and registry so there were no conflicts which caused TBS to fail after an auto upgrade, so TBS worked flawlessly but the next auto upgrade saw the error returning.

The error is there because the upgrades do not over-write some of the earlier existing files in TBS folder and may be isn't correctly updating the registry also. Clearly it's the coding errors committed by the TBS coder/s which are causing so many head-aches to the users, but he/they will never recognize that fact.


P.S.: as you have only a fresh TBS installed, I'd suggest you to use the Beta 3.xxx version as the version 2.9xxx is an old version still being used because the 3.xxx is still in Beta. Possibly, the 2.9xxx has many compatibility issues -- your PC configuration in particular, the backend codes, the .Net compatibility, and others.

If none of the above helps try to use it with your firewall turned off.

I had problems with TBS not connecting to the licensing server. The moment I turned the firewall off I could run it without problems.

I have it running in a virtual machine now...not going to open all doors for just one program...

TBS 3.03 works well . But TBS 2.9 got this error

This error pops up only when the internet connection is down or if TBS is being blocked by a firewall. Always make sure your net connection is ON before firing up the app.

But I use both crack and paid version but get the same error.

That error message often pops up when the program doesn't recognize what you are trying to do. In fact, you can replicate the error by right clicking on the main program while it is attempting to download the latest synonyms.

He fixed it on the beta and I hardly get those errors.

On a side note you don't need to uninstall it if you don't want to use the Beta. Just delete the folder in

User\AppData\Local\JonathanLeger.com\TheBest...

Traffic Travis??? Are you sure you aren't talking about TBS?

If it's TBS, then find and delete the database everytime before you start TBS (yes, really!), and TBS will then load the fresh synonym DB (yes, really really!). A real big buggy software is this TBS!:aargh4:

I'm having the same problem and I dont know what to do.
I've uninstalled it with revo uninstaller, and nothing. I've repaired the Net Framework 4 and 3.5 and nothing. I've got all the Net Frameworks but still, it doesn't help.
What do I have to do to make it work?
I need your help guys.

Why are you running 2.9 -- are you running a cracked version? It's up to release 3.2 now.

Well it appears I wasn't the only one with this problem. I took everything that was said on this thread and went step by step through each post and followed all the actions getting the Revo Uninstaller and applying it, updating from 3.5 to 4 even dropping the firewall and had no luck.

Then it hit me that the program worked fine initially so I deleted everything and went to their site and just downloaded the new version. I had purchased the program so I applied my registration and was good to go.

Well that is until the next update (smiles)

I just wanted to take a moment and say thanks to all the posters of this thread and more so on this site. You all are amazing, I always learn so much every time I log into this site.

Hello. Yesterday i purchase TBS for 7 days , the trial period. At first i got the same error as the OP said. I done everything you have mentioned about and downloaded 3 . 416 version ( the latest one ). After starting the program its shows me other error :

P.S I solve my problem by removing the last lines in my file HOSTS , which contained a lines from long time ago when i was trying to install the cracked version.

Now the program is working well
