Dear Blackhatters,

First of all thank you for opening and reading my thread! :)

I started a webshop 1.5 months ago selling toys in The Netherlands.
I want to rank my website in Google on a few keywords related to my webshop and my products.
But it is not working well. The competition is not to much but due my lack of SEO knowledge I fail to gain any progress in ranking.

I have a couple of questions:
First when I see my website in Google it has a https:// domain and not a https://www. domain. All the other websites have a www. domain but now mine
How can I rank my website?
How can I use the keywords in my domainname to my advantage for ranking
Can I use .com English backlinks for my Dutch website?

Thank you so much for helping me!

You can send me a PM and I will send you more info about my website and niche so maybe you can give me more detailed information :)

first of all if you are having a webshop, it should have https://
does not matter if with or without www as long both versions point to your site. This is a setting you can choose popably at your hosting control panel.

Oh forget to say. I have https

First, if you have a SSL certificate, www or non-www does not matter. You can set these things up in you htaccess file.

For SEO, you questions are too wide. :D
I thing for e-commerce site you are better just buying PPC ads (google adwords or facebook ads).

Still for start:
on-page SEO: make sure your keyword appears in your meta descriptions....optimize your product and category pages like "buy [your product] online" or "buy in netherlands"

off-page SEO: get backlinks if u can. Any kind, reddit, quora, comments, forums , articles whatevr...

Register with Google search console if you haven't already.
That's all for a start. Doing this should create some positive movement.

Yes www or not is just a setting and you can do without.

I suggest writing regular long tail and related keyword blog posts and getting them posted on social media.

It can take time to get a new website noticed on Google.

I started a woocommerce website months ago and have some tips for you.

I'm by no means an expert, but maybe I can help you with basic stuff.

It's a Wordpress website?

In case it is, follow this steps:

1) Install YoastSEO plugin and update to last version.
2) Use the plugin to optimize your flagship products pages.
3) Write good content on your product pages descriptions.
4) Write your TOS, Privacy and Refund Policy pages.
5) Optimize the speed of your website using PageSpeed Insights.
6) Hire a photographer to take professional photos of your products.
7) Build your social media pages using the professional photos. ( Facebook and Instagram, maybe Pinterest )
8) Buy 10k Followers for your IG Page and 2~3K Likes for your Facebook Page.
9) Look for Free Traffic Sources like Facebook Groups, Pinterest and Quora.
10) Do your keyword research or pay someone to do it for you (HUGE STEP).
11) Start optimizing your product pages / home page with your Keywords.
12) Look for some Instagram/Twitter influencers to promote your products. You can pay for shoutouts or give some free products for review.
13) Use some triggers in your products / checkouts pages, like offers with countdowns and sales badges ( There are tons of plugins that can do this ).
14) Put some trust badges in the footer of your pages AND in your checkout page.
15) Install Facebook Pixel and setup some ADs. ( Don't be lazy with your ADs, they cost you money and they can make or break your webstore ).
16) Do some research on how to build a sales funnel and how to do e-mail marketing.
17) Start building links to your website ( I'm struggling with this step ).
18) Get a plugin to deal with abandoned carts.
19) Simplify your checkout page.

It's all I can remember right now, hope it'll help you in some way.

Thank you, I messaged him!

No problem buddy. You're also welcome to add me. We can always help each other. I'm pretty damn good with paid advertising with FB Ads if you ever wanted to try out your luck with that.

Hi buddy, Tnere are many trick and trips of seo which helps you to achieve good rankings and make your brand more powerful.

I would do a quick search for onpage Seo and off page Seo there are a ton Of guides on here. Spend a few hours reading and see what you can do to implement a lot of stuff

Use serp fox and watch your ranking to check for improvments to see the reaction of your actions. I believe the first 10 or so keywords are free

It doesn't matter. Make sure you have https and all other versions (www, http etc.) redirect to the main one.
How can I rank my website?
Do proper keyword research, add keywords to main meta tags, boost your speed, optimize for mobile, build links and lots of other things to do. You really have to narrow down your question.
How can I use the keywords in my domainname to my advantage for ranking
Don't think about it. Keyword in a domain name is just a keyword in a domain name there is no other use of it.
Can I use .com English backlinks for my Dutch website?
You can use them, but if you are selling locally, you better focus on Dutch backlinks.
