Hello everyone,

I installed Windows 10 on my Contabo VPS a while ago using an ISO file, but I don't remember the exact steps. I am currently looking to reinstall Windows 10, but I am stuck and unsure of how to proceed. I would appreciate it if someone could provide me with a detailed guide or a video tutorial to help me complete this installation.

If you have a link to a video or detailed advice on how to perform the installation correctly, I would be very grateful!

Thank you in advance for your help!

Step-by-Step Guide to Reinstall Windows 10 on Contabo VPS:

1. Log in to the Contabo Control Panel:

Go to the Contabo website and log in to your account.

Once logged in, find your VPS under the Dashboard.

Access the Control Panel for the VPS by selecting it.

2. Upload the Windows 10 ISO:

In your VPS Control Panel, look for the option that allows you to manage your CD-ROM/ISO. You need to mount the Windows 10 ISO to the VPS.

If you haven't uploaded the ISO file yet, there should be an option to upload an ISO file from your computer.

Once uploaded, select it to mount as a virtual CD drive for your VPS.

3. Configure VPS to Boot from ISO:

Navigate to the Boot Order or Boot Settings section in the VPS Control Panel.

Set the CD-ROM (ISO) as the first boot device so that the VPS will boot from the Windows 10 ISO.

Save the boot order changes.

4. Access VNC Console:

Most VPS providers, including Contabo, offer a VNC console for direct access to the virtual machine.

Launch the VNC viewer from the VPS Control Panel to open a remote session with the VPS.

Once connected, reboot the VPS through the VNC console, and it should start the Windows 10 installation from the ISO.

5. Begin Windows 10 Installation:

After rebooting, the VNC console should show the Windows 10 installation screen.

Follow these steps to complete the installation:

1. Choose Language and Region: Select your language, time, and keyboard preferences.

2. Click Install Now.

3. Enter Product Key (if required): If you have a product key, enter it, or choose "I don't have a product key" to continue without one (you can activate it later).

4. Choose Windows Edition: Select the edition of Windows 10 you want to install (usually Windows 10 Pro).

5. Accept the License Agreement.

6. Partition the VPS Disk:

When prompted about where to install Windows, you will see the partitions available on your VPS.

Delete all existing partitions to start with a clean install.

Create a new partition from the unallocated space and format it as required.

7. Complete Windows Installation:

After setting up the partition, the Windows installation will proceed automatically.

The VPS will reboot several times during the process. Keep the VNC console open to monitor the progress.

Once the installation is complete, you will be prompted to set up your user account, region, network preferences, and other basic settings.

8. Install VPS Drivers (If Needed):

After Windows is installed, you may need to install drivers for your VPS to ensure network and performance stability.

Contabo typically uses virtio drivers for Windows, which you may need to download and install to enable the VPS's network and storage systems properly.

Mount the virtio ISO in the VPS, and use Device Manager to install the drivers (especially for network and storage).

9. Activate Windows:

Once the installation is complete, make sure to activate Windows with your license key if you haven't done so already.

Thanks man, a very precise tutorial however I already have the Windows Server 2022 and Windows 10 ISO image files on my Contabo account...

In that case just skip steps 1 and 2, and start from 3.
