(need help) Questions about Reddit

Hi,
I know that i should not post too many links of my site in a row in order not to be detected as spam.
For example if my site is "y" i should post some links from the site "x" and "z"
My questions:
1-How many links should i submit daily in total maximum not to be shadowbanned for spamming?
2-How many links should i post every time before submitting my own link?Somebody told me:
Out of every 10 post you make, only 1 should go back to your website.
Is it true?

i would say 1/25, also im not sure why you would want reddit traffic as they are a pain in the ass to monetize.
You need to always be adding value when you post there and by value I don't mean 1000 word articles but still saying 'oh xxxxdotcom can help you out' too much will make you suspicious, do such posts 1/200 imho.

your web posts should be between 200-400 words, give some generic information and than offer more at website.com, thats how i did it but as i said monetizing redditors is suuuuuuuuuuper hard so it didn't reap too much. the traffic is great though.

EDIT: Just realized this thread is like 2 months old, will not delete post as it might help the guy above me.

Thank you man.I have found many good things about Reddits and i'm getting considerable traffic.Thanks for your tips.

Users on reddit are hyper aware of spamming and shit content meant to sell.
You gotta come with some good shit or they will get you banned from subreddits.

What randybishop said is 100% correct. On top fighting reddit itself, you have to worry about the users, as they're extremely fickle. What gets upvoted one day might get shot down in flames the next.
A friend and I tried to advertise a fairly niche product we were building for musicians, and the most luck we've had was by:

1. Using smaller / niche subreddits. Less members, less posts a day, but less noise and easier to rank high.
2. Using a bit of psychology (baiting questions like "there's tools out there for this, if you know where to look".)
3. Redditors would then reply to ask which ones and where. At that point, we had MUCH more luck when posting the link.

Obvious downside is how much more time consuming it is. Also keep in mind we are small time players for now and our scope was equally small. Unsure how that would translate for more mainstream advertisement.

I'd say only use reddit if you own the product or know the product is GOOD. Shitty products will send up red flags. You will never be able to get away with spamming crappy offers on there without getting shut down very quickly.

From what I've seen, the products that tend to do well on reddit are usually very niche, home made/artsy stuff, tech gadgets, and basically any product that isn't tied to some mega corporation or marketing where your only goal is to make money off reddit users. So you're never going to get away with spamming shitty affiliate offers like weightloss pills on there (and even if you were, there's no long term success there).

But if you're a good marketer who can cloak his approach and make your advert seem like real content with value,Then reddit can be a goldmine, however I think most of the time you're playing with fire when using reddit. The moment that you slip up and they figure out you're trying to take advantage of them they will not only ban you, but some people might be upset enough to go out of there way to screw your business over.

So it's a double edge sword. Personally I think going into reddit with a spammers mentality is setting yourself up for failure. I'm sure there are people out there who are making it work, but if they put half the effort they do into making their spam look believable on reddit, they could make a hell of a lot more money doing regular advertising.
