Like xcybrx said it's helpful if there is dummy content. But first you need to go through the documentation. And then submit a support ticket to the author if you still have problems.

That theme is amazing actually. I would try switching to a different theme and back to the theme you have. It seems as if there is an issue with the background and images not loading correctly. This usually clears up the problem with that and may also help with your menu issue.

I used to have this kind of problem.
The solution is download the xml file provided by the provider, import and install, you will be able to see how to format it.
