no one knows how many bucks you should spend on it because they don't know your goals and preferences.
What I can tell you - at a first (and superficial) glance over your site - however is that the homepage needs a better design. The inner pages are OK, and the quality of your content is good, I would not mess with these. But the homepage design really does need a complete overhaul because it's ugly as fuck.
And what's with the business category in the main menu?? If your site's focus is high schools (which it seems to be) then you don't need to branch out into a different topic *(business) as this will dilute the topical authority of your site and topicality is very important nowadays. Just remove all of the business-related content and stick to high school topics only...
