Need help optimising FB ad

Hey guys,

Brand new to FB ads, ran a $10 test campaign to see what the CTR would be.

Results were:

21,931 impressions
4656 people
3 link clicks

Selected traffic,optimisation,lowest cost per impression, did select my relevant niches, (did realise later that I missed by key niche what I was targeting, could account for the low CTR)

I'm concerned about 3 aspects:

1. Why am I only getting 3 clicks (very low CTR)
2. Why is the CPC so high for? ($10/3)
3. How important are selecting niches in the ad

Not really saleable when the CPC is over $3 a click and such a low CTR, if I spent more I think it would lower the CPC, but not too sure.

To elaborate, the sales funnel looks like this currently:

FB Ad > Landing Page > Email Submission for PDF > Affiliate links within PDF

Based on my niche im assuming around 0.25-0.5% conversion for people who have received the ebook.

So if I assume 1000 clicks on the ad > say 50% submit emails and get ebook > from those 500 maybe 1-2 sign up through the affiliates.

I'd expect to earn at least $500 per person + ongoing commission so if we assume 2 people, then id need the CPC to be at a $1 which its currently x3 that.

Need some input from the more experienced fb ads users and marketing guys.

$10 is not enough for a test campaign. You have to let it run at least 3 days to have it fully optimized. Plus there are interests that you should target or not target at all. I suggest you run split tests.

Test out stuff and optimize.

Also its the 4th quarter. Prices are going to be higher, and you'll be getting lower quality traffic because those with bigger pockets are buying up all the quality traffic.

Yes, but with these low CTR im not too sure if it even warrants further testing

I just swiped my copy off the net including copy/visuals, i know this stuff works cause its used by bigger companies, just dont know what im getting such a low CTR, I dont want to have to spend hundreds just to validate that its a bad idea.

Send me a pm so I can take a closer look at the copy/graphics/landing pages/targeting.

Without good audience target the CPM are very high. Improve on that.

As said above 10$ is not enough and you need to run ads for 2-3 days @ 10-20$ a day at first CPC will be high after that it should drop and make sure your pixel is working as it should because FB will optimise based on all kinds of data including pixel
