Offshore is no longer what it used to be. The world is moving towards transparency in every aspect of our life.

it's pretty advisable to take a good look at "offshore bank accounts" - various former offshore places meanwhile signed information exchange treaties with the US and EU to get white listed.... it's still possible but not easy. Sure destinations like Belize are still independent and plan on stay that way, but given the fact how fast all of this is changing I wouldn't plan on a long term strategy with "hidden" offshore accounts... (no issue if you fully declare them for sure...)

No bank in the world is going to take you without verifying your identity and source of funds do to AML and KYC policies. That being said, they don't necessarily have to share that information with anybody
