Need help on photoshop

Hi,
I don't know if it's right place to post this question.

I have following image in .jpg that I want to pull out only "snowboard man" and "soccer player" from the image using photoshop.

can anybody show me how to do this.
Really appreciated.

the easiest is to use the magnetic lasso to select then feather to remove any rough edges on the selection then copy/paste it to a new layer.
i've made a basic psd to get you started. just use the eraser to remove any unnecessary bits (dark outlines..)

The images were of poor quality to begin with but have been masked and a drop shadow added. If you don't want the drop shadow, which IS on the original images, PM me and I will remove it.

The masked images were saved as a .png as it is superior to a .jpg. Again, let me know if you need this changing as the images can be converted to whatever you want.

Finally, the last two images were digitally enhanced and sharpened, which often looks better on websites but you will have to try both options to see which is best as sometimes sharpened images look too grainy, unless that's the look you want. Everything was done on a Mac.

Not sure if you've noticied but the soccer player's image has been what we call 'reflected' as the number on his shirt should read '17'. Either the image needs reflecting back or the number masked out, reflected and put back in the correct aspect. This is also easy to do if you need it'.

or you can use the pen tool. first track down the edges of the soccer player and the surfing man using the pen tool, then click selection and give it a feather about 2 points and cut and paste and there you have it.
