need help on my website getting error Request Timeout

this is the error i am getting on my website


Request Timeout
This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase 'Connection Timeout'.

does anyone know how to resolve or fix this this has been happening for 2 days now

Might want to move this to the hosting or freelancer section.

Have you contacted your Web host to make sure its not the server or a setting? Are you on a shared hosting, vps or dedicated? Could be a number of things at this point.
 
I would definitely hire someone to look at it as it could be a myriad of causes. Could also be an issue on your end.
 
You are going to need to post more information. More specifically, the exact request made to the server. It's asking the server to do something that it cannot accomplish since the response never comes back. If you have more details you can share, I can take a look.
 
I'd suggest to contact with your hosting company. They can help you on this issue.

i think someone might have been doing a ddos attack on my site would that maybe of caused this error

my coder told me it’s best to just get a new setup
and new domains

The website usually times out because the server is processing too much requests. It could be either a DDOS attack or your site is simply hosted on a oversold server where thousand other sites are hosted and sharing the server resources.

You can mask your hosting provider's IP by adding your domain to Cloudflare.

Feel free to PM me if your site is running on WP. I'm good at fixing it up and optimising it for super fast page load time.
