Need help on my niche... Please...

Hello everyone! I need some ideas (again). I'm heavily considering putting up a blog/site on paranormal stuff (occult, the strange and unexplained, meditation, etc.) and load it up with long and extremely high-quality articles. Can you guys tell me how to best monetize this sort of project? Should I take the Adsense route? Would affiliate marketing make sense?

Also, can you give me suggestions on things like:
- domain name choice
- what blog/site structure would be effective for this niche
- traffic generation (SEO or social, or both)

What other specifics do I need to consider to make this blog/site a solid money-maker?

Okay, here's a serious answer: Most affiliate products in the paranormal niche are rubbish based on the ones I've seen, although Adsense might also not be a good choice (I can't say for certain as I have limited experience in that niche). Something I have noticed on those paranormal sites is that many of them sell their own products and guides, so that might be something worth looking into as well.

1. Domain name choice: I can't help you there, but I suppose a site name referencing a gemstone or magical artefact would be appropriate
2. What blog/site structure would be effective for this niche: A blog and a forum on the same site sound like an excellent combination.
3. Traffic generation (SEO or social, or both): Paranormal forums and SEO.

Take this advice with a grain of salt.

Paranormal fans are also conspiracy people. So maybe so precious metals and prepper stuff.

This is an interesting niche, i own a domain name called newagedawn.com and will get round to building a site for it. If you are looking for ways to monetize your new site then here are some ideas.


The obvious one would be amazon. For example a search for occult returns 104,832 results, paranormal returns 230,735 results. So plenty of scope.
Ebay is equally abundant with 19,197 listings for Occult.


You could open a Amazon affiliate store if your theme supports Woocommerce and use prosciate plugin ( On BHW free ). You can also add live ebay listings to every post/ page using easybaypro plugin. Counts down in real time and automatically replaces finished auctions, so it is set and forget. You can also add this to widget area. I use this and it looks good. ( pm me if you want to see this on a live site i own )


For Ebooks you can use these two sites ( Not affiliate links ) . first is a secure digital download site, just upload your ebook and make a secure paypal buy now button then get the html code and insert it into your post/ page and people can buy ebooks/ reports securely and it cuts down on costs for you.

I would set up page on facebook and get a twitter account and post to them regularly, also ask for people to write in with paranormal experiences etc.

Reporting for duty!

Another option is to do something involving clickbank. I just checked over there and they only have 3 products available under paranormal. I don't know if that's because it's a weak niche or because no one else discovered it yet. Once your website has picked up steam you could develop your own product like someone else suggested and offer it as one of the options on clickbank which means you will have others advertising your product for you. Or you could develop other avenues of funneling traffic to the same product yourself.

I'd say the best route is amazon. Believe it or not it's abundant with choices.

Clickbank has some nice offers in this niche, especially one who has a very good video

This is a niche I'm personally involved in. Firstly let me say clickbank is rubbish, I have tested various CB offers and none of them converted!

Adsense is my go to monetization method, and get around $0.35 per click.

Also content locking works quite well, especially with mobile traffic. It is a niche where you need to know your stuff, but is very easy to build up social media traffic if you know what you are doing.

Another bonus is not many marketers hit this niche, so ranking high traffic keywords is a piece of cake.

You need to do your keyword research using a keyword research tool. Find the one which doesn't have much competition and has good search volume. You will pick your domain according to the keyword you picked; it helps a lot to have the keyword(s) you've chosen in your domain, so you should be aiming for that. As for traffic generation, you can never really get enough traffic; do everything that you know of. You can start with social and follow it up with SEO later on to cement your view count, that's what I would do.

To me this would be more of an Adsense niche, community-based site.

Always good to have a keyword strategy though before going into content creations mode, that's where I would start...

You could get a list of people who have ecommerce sites in this niche, and contact them all telling them how much traffic you get, and would they like to work with you.

I also have a somewhat paranormal niche site. The domain is not the exact keyword, more like a brand name, but the first half of the keyword is also the first half of the domain name. I've started with 15 articles each with between 700-1500 words. Site structure: I have a landing page with general info about the niche, 5 static page in the menu and articles (posts) in the sidebar. I've monetized it with amazon (1 post with book reviews and 1 post with related products), adsense and clickbank (1 post about the best clickbank products in the niche). Though the site is only 2 weeks old now, I had 3 orders through amazon and the traffic is better than I've expected, so I'm hopeful. My plan is to build my audience with social media and writing 2-3 new articles every week.
