Need help on IM "languages".

So yeah, I've been reading stuffs here for a while. I understand most of the topics, and I'm very thankful for it. However, when I stumble upon some topics that should've been informative (for me atleast), I got a hard time understanding like some of these words:

PR
OBL
AA = auto approve?
Link blast

I tried googling some like:

SERP = search engine result page

But when I google "pr" it shows thousands of results irrelevant to each other.

I am studying IM as much as possible before I actually dive in, but not understanding these words would basically make it harder for me.

If you know some "uncommon" words for beginners like me, please let me know. I already searched BHW for this, but sadly I can't find a topic about this or I didn't just searched well.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but yes, I really have to make a thread for it.

In internet marketing PR usually stands for Page Rank,
however, on occasion, you will see PR in relation to
Press Release or Public Relations.

Now I'll bet you are REALLY confused! (lol!)

OBL - Outbound Links.

PR - Pagerank, or Press Release, or Public Relationships.

SMO - Social Media Optimisation.

SMM - Social Media Marketing.

SEM - Search Engine Marketing.

FFA - Free For All. Also known as link farms.

PPC - Pay per Click.

RSS - Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary.

MNS- Micro Niche Site.

Software:

SB - Scrapebox.

AMR- Article Marketing Robot.

BMD - Bookmarking Demon.

VSEO - VenomSEO.

Websites:

DP - Digital Point.

WF - WarriorForum.

BHW - Black Hat World.

A link blast is when someone uses a black hat tool to create many backlinks to a website at one time
senuke scrapebox Amr, are all great tools for blasting links

Since you are new and interested to learn the basics, start with the basics. Every abbreviation does not hide just an expression. It is a complete topic with a background. So start with "PR", don't miss reading up on what makes the most successful search engine so successful.

It is not a secret as patents must be dislcosed in full and it is the only reason why the other search engines are lagging behind so badly. If it wasn't patented, they would be counting, or rather evaluating, backlinks as well.

Knowing that a single high PR bl is worth thousands of low PR bls will save you lots of nerves, time & money. Another point to note is that 1 or 100 backlinks from the same domain normally does not make a difference unless it is some really respected huge authority like thewhitehouse or something.

Nah, he's saying that you should forget backlinking on low PR pages, and only aim for unique high PR backlinks.

1 High PR Page = Many Low PR Pages

Also aim for high PR .edu links as well!

Yes you do!
Usually in blog comments or site profiles.

High PR pages with low OBL (outbound links) will usually be moderated. Make sure you make your comment sincere so it is approved!

With profiles, you can make accounts at site like Flickr, Facebook, ect. and stick your link somewhere on your profile.

Here's Harro's thread about backlinks you might want to take a look at. It's from 2008 but you'll still learn a few things.
