Im looking for a white hat guide for building back links since i want to be offering a web design and SEO service in my area. can anyone help me out? the more in depth the better :)

I know of a couple. I will have to dig them up. There is actually a lot of information on this site.

I will post when I find them.

Just check out the white hat seo section on this forum. You may have to scroll down a couple pages but you should find plenty of information that will help out.

looks like you will have to do manual comment backlinking... anyway if it's only a local service then you will only need around 50 good backlinks to dominate the search rankings

You can run a search for blogs or forums in that niche and throw a reply or post some useful information relating the post with a link back to your site

Un..%$#$% believable..
I am looking for a quick spoon fed guide on being a car mechanic since I want to be offering a car detailing and mechanical repairs service in my area.
Does my analogy give you a %$#@#$% hint at something bleeding obvious..?

Actually I am looking for a jackass who goes on the forum and bitch at other people without really helping them. Its pretty obvious that you are a shithead. But its okay, I understand that the flux of estrogen levels make you moody.

But i thought forum posts are No-Follow most of the time and carries very little juice.

Does submitting to directories en mass work well? like 3k of them..

If You Don't Know Already How To Do It Then Maybe You Should Either Learn It First or Figure out another way to screw people out of their money. Cuz That is all your doing, if you do not already know how to rank well in the search engines.

Well if you use firefox they have an addon that shows follow links.. I can't remember the name of it but you could search for it. I haven't used it in a while so I cant be 100% on if it still works but I don't see any reason it wouldn't.

Just use search button in forum and search engines and start reading... You are planning to offer services of something which you don't have good idea so better learn first...

No guide is perfect and you will not find all information in one place....

what i think is .edu and .gov link have value but only if they have good page rank. here by saying good I means to say 3 or above.
and for those who want to know how to check a link is no-follow or do-follow. If you use Mozilla then there is a add-on called no**************** just download it and it will show you

the keyword here is "Want to be", not that I'm already :)

so what are some of the white hat options?
wait for other site to link to you, blog posting, directories, forum posts? Are profile pages white as well?

The add on is called SEO QUAKE

The best answer I have read on this thread... And do what he says it will help out a lot.

Well.. if he has most of it under his belt.. he can most likely BS his way through the convo and get a client.... and if you use your brain there are no worries.. if that is what hes doing..
