Need help - .com.au domain registration

I'm trying to register an Australian domain at Namecheap and it says I need to provide a valid ID number. Will they verify my ID after registration? I'm not willing to register with my real name, so if they do that I fail. Besides that, I'm not from Australia.

And why do I have to register for 2 years minimum?

Guys, not that I am promoting any 'shady' practices - but the whole ABN check on registering .com.au's is all automated.

I mean, you can go on the ABR website and get as many ABN's as you'd  like on there. Copy one, enter it while registering the domain and it  will approve. I have registered so many .com.au's using my own ABN, and  all of the domains appear to have no relation to my actual business if  anyone ever did a manual review.

Also, I use VentraIP to register them. I usually own the domain less  than a minute after 'buying' and so there is clearly no manual checks  done. It is all automated. Again, this is just for you guys out there to  test out.
