"It doesn't work" > Please kindly mention what exactly appears as a message or as an error, etc when you attempt to change your password, so that effective solutions may be attempted towards trying to help you. If possible post a screenshot, BUT please blur out the username, etc.

problem I'm facing is: i forgot my password and i am logged in my account on my phone but if anything happened and for any reason i logged out, i wont be able to access my account again. i am trying to reset/forget password. it doesn't work. i know all the information on my account and its still linked to my phone number which i have access to, even 2fa is on but i want to change the password and its not possible because i forgot the current password.

only reply if you can help please, don't send me random usernames of people telling me they can help. i won't contact anybody which is mostly scams. i just need someone to tell me what should i do to reset/change my password before logging out of my Facebook app and losing my account.

p.s. the account is not linked to any email address, just the phone number!
