Need help/advice on ranking my site on Bing.

Hey guys, I want to rank for a specific keyword on Bing. I've already indexed the page now I just need to get backlinks. The thing is I want to do this myself, I'm not looking to buy any backlinks since I don't have money to spend right now. So what is the best way to approach this?

Look for Authority sites in your niche, request a link or do some blog commenting.
Share your link on forums relevant to your niche.
Set up some Web 2.0's and Social profiles with links back to your site.

Alternatively, buy a Tool and spam the shit out of everything.

That was a joke BUT I have had results on Bing with spammy links.
