Uhhhh wat?
There are alot on here that I can agree with but what is wrong with contextual blog links and white hat forum posts and white hat articles?

I guess that leaves you yahoo answers and social media.

Correct, it showed up on google search but not really counted as backlink (so it won't help your serp). However, if your answer(s) is charming, it would increase the traffic from yahoo.
 
Hi... Do Regular link building for different submissions like directories,social book marking,classifieds,articles,press release should be do-follow links and should have good page rank.
