Its better to go for a low spec VPS rather than a free VPS, it will be cheaper too

I doubt you'll get a credible VPS for free. Free hosting maybe, but a VPS is an entirely isolated server.

Cloudrino offers a "free" VPS if you refer some people first (they just need to enter their email). It's the only legitimate "free" VPS offering I've ever found.

The problem with VPS even if you get it for free are they are very limited to what it can do unless of course you've got a service that uses credit card verification.
The best thing to do is learn the money making methods and buy a reliable one. Searching on Google isn't going to feed you or your family.

if you really need a free VPS you should go for the AWS, they can provide to as many VPS you want with many options in OS

You're asking for a free computer. That's hardware that someone paid for to bring into their datacentre , power it, maintain it and manage it.

There are several good free vps providers but you have to be active in their forums to keep it. It's not bad doing like 15-20 posts in return for vps. Plus why would someone would give a vps to a stranger totally free ? Someone has to pay for it.

Lets all remember that AWS is only free for a year and you only get 750 hours per month. Not to mention that AWS is not designed to be a vps host. EC2 is meant to be your compute, meaning that you have your database and storage in S3 and database in RDS.

Nothing is FREE in this world brother.. But you can try Amazon AWS (EC2). but still, it will cost you at least $1 for first year.
