Need Everyones Opinion!

I have a passion for discovering new music that appeals to me and i want to turn it into an income through a website(One of my personal favorites, indieshuffle), i would essentially browse numerous sites and forums for great and undiscovered new music then post videos and download of it on my site all while making reviews for it. I look at most successful Music sites and see that they dont make a substantial amount of money from them. So my other idea was to create a soccer review site and monetize it and potentially get free gear to review from companies. 2 very different ideas, but i need your opinion on what would be more profitable and easier to set up. How would you monetise your music site? PPD + banner ads? I think the mp3 download sites are not exactly the hottest and most promising niches out there, rather they are in terminal phase. Football..maybe.. it is one if not the most popular sport on the planet.

Hey thank you for the post. Yeah ive been researching a lot of different music sites and they don't seem to make too much money, im thinking it would be kind of wasted time and effort if i made one. It's possible that the money is minimal but the things such a free concerts and gear is plentiful but who knows. Yes i was thinking of doing banner ads, and maybe some PPD. But if i did ad.focus or something like that for example then people would hate my links. With footy, it is possible for sure to make a nice profitable site. Ive seen one person monetize his soccer reviews site with youtube and tons of affiliate banner ads for soccer shops on his site. Overall my whole point is to just start on something and in a couple months have a nice steady income that will increase even more over time. Hell, people can suggest something to me that made them money when they first started out. Ill gladly try it out

Well soundcloud and youtube has always been appealing to sell or promote music , but i would suggeset to create initial attraction give some background music to a video which can get a lot of views like some parody's for justin beiber or some cars and bikes in a video and try to give your music or if its soft music apply it to a video which will suit it , eventually people will notice it and request you for your tracks , then thre you go your formula for a hit , its just my suggestion ! hope you have success in music !

Here is my suggestion..your passion is music not soccer..stick to music niche and do what you can..it's not working for someone else doesn't mean it won't work for you. The main reason is because it'll be hard for you to give up on music niche than soccer because you like music. Stick to your passion man and everything else will fall in its place

Well both Soccer and Music are my passion since i could research and discover about them all day. Just that i wouldnt exactly say reviewing soccer products as my passion haha. You are right though, i would absolutely love to have a nice music blog up and running because it would be fun to add new content and have the potential to become popular

I'm always looking for indie electro bands and usually find myself going into Wikipedia and searching all the Electro bands they have listed.

If I knew there was a website out there with someone who searched out the best Indie Electro artists I would certainly be visiting it often.
