I'm sorry I can't help you actually answer your question, but have you considered using Drupal Commerce instead of Ubercart?
I think Commerce is more future proof and has more potential. It has a higher learning curve though, but projects like Commerce Kickstart do help a lot to get you started.

It depends on the complexity of your store as well, of course.
