For the past few years I have made half-assed product releases while never putting in the proper time to make it big and grow. I think I'm finally ready to grow up and start branding myself so I can market my products to people who recognize the brand(me). I'm currently developing an ecourse that is scheduled for release later in this year. I want to create a successful pre-launch campaign for my product and am in the process of choosing my domain name.

I'm not sure whether to go with a company name like seomoz.org and associate myself strongly with it like rand fishkin or go the other way:

The other option would be to use my name as the domain name kind of like eddale.com and build everything off of my name.

What are some of your opinions?

I'd use a business name. i know that guys in the industry do use just their name i guess, but you gotta be pretty big for that, and i just think in general a company name sounds more professional and less like 1 guy sittin in his underwear at his chair. goodluck

A business name you can sell. It's probably a bit harder to sell your own name? ;)

I agree with the members above.

I'd start with the company name. Make it big, and maybe sell it later on.

You can do this for various other companies that you may want to start, but always associating your name with them. This way your name is seen as the father of all the companies that you start.

Good luck man!

At the moment I have an about First LastName snippet on the home page and a full page that's separate. For the purposes just discussed, should I keep the about page and snippet or get rid of it in it's entirety?
